On Thursday, June 11th, Iroquois Falls Secondary School celebrated another successful year of athletics at the IFSS Annual Athletic Banquet!

Athletes, coaches, family members, and supporters gathered to recognize the dedication, sportsmanship, and achievements of our student-athletes throughout the school year. The evening featured a wonderful meal, reflections on a memorable year of competition, and heartfelt thanks to the many coaches and volunteers who helped make our athletic programs possible.

It's a fun day and complimentary BBQ to celebrate a great school year for all IFSS students, staff and their families!! Hope to see you there!

On Wednesday, May 27th, IFSS travelled to Timmins to compete in the NEOAA Track and Field Championships. While the weather may not have been the greatest, our athletes didn’t let that hold them back! We had a fantastic day on the track and in the field, with all athletes beating personal bests in one or more of their events!!

We even had a few with some podium finishes:
- Cole Quast placed 2nd in Novice Boys High Jump
- Peyton Grein placed 3rd in the Junior Girls Long Jump and 2nd in the Junior Girls 100m
- Oaklee Hamelin placed 3rd in the Junior Girls High Jump and 3rd in the Junior Girls Javelin
- Hayden Robin placed 3rd in the Novice Boys 400m
- Oliver Breeze placed 2nd in the Junior Boys 200m, 2nd in the Junior Boys Long Jump, and 1st in the Junior Boys High Jump

Oliver will represent IFSS and NEOAA at OFSAA Track and Field for the second year in a row in High Jump! Way to go Oliver!!

Congratulations to all the athletes on a job well done yesterday, and an amazing and fun season!!! We are already looking forward to next year!!

Our curling team had an unforgettable experience competing at the Ontario Federation of Secondary Athletic Associations Curling Championships in Thunder Bay from March 23–27! 🥌👏

While their results didn’t quite reflect the strong season they had, the team showed great effort, sportsmanship, and resilience throughout the event. Most importantly, they had a lot of fun and embraced every moment of the experience.

Competing at OFSAA was an incredible learning opportunity, and one they hope to build on in the future!

We would also like to extend a huge thank you to all of the businesses and individuals who supported our team. Your generosity made this opportunity possible, and we are so grateful for your support of our student-athletes. A huge thank you to: 4XEM, Alex MacIntyre and Associates, Smoky Robinson’s Events and Catering, Rémi Bernier, Kim Denault, Iroquois Falls Tire Service, Home Hardware and the Iroquois Falls Curling Club.
