Eeeeek! You’ve just seen a bear in the national park. You’ve crossed it off your trip’s bucket list. Oh, the excitement!

But do you know what the four most important things to remember once you’ve spotted the bear? 🐻
1. This is THEIR home. Only observe and photograph bears from 100m away.
2. Bears are WILD animals. Do not stop next to a bear or get out of your vehicle, and NEVER approach a bear.
3. NEVER feed a bear, or leave food unattended. We promise they have a delicious source of natural food in the national park.
4. Please report all bear sightings to Banff Dispatch at 403-762-1470 when safe to do so. By doing so you can help Parks Canada ensure safety to visitors and wildlife.
