It's been a few months since any activity with the Fridge, and some collective members are trying to get this rolling again! First and foremost, we need a core group of organizers in committees for communication, food sourcing, maintenance, cleaning, and more.

If you would like to be involved in organizing the Kelowna Community Fridge, or otherwise want to know what's happening, please come to one of these two meetings or email in to [email protected]

Thank you everyone - let's get out there and care for each other!

The Kelowna Community Fridge is *urgently* seeking volunteers in order to continue operating at 515 Lawrence Avenue! The community fridge relies on volunteers to help keep the fridge and area safe, clean, and organized — out of respect and care for users of the fridge, our host Burke Hair Lounge, and the surrounding neighbourhood.

If you have 15-20 minutes available in your week, please signup to help tidy the fridge at: https://signup.com/go/OCOABxb — anything helps, especially on days that are not currently filled! Clickable link in bio.

Basic supplies needed are gloves, sanitizing wipes, and 135L garbage bags. They are available in Burke Hair Lounge when they are open, or bring your own.

Please share with friends, co-workers, family, and your social network! We want this care to be as distributed as possible, so there is resilience when some people need to rest or otherwise cannot show up!

If purchasing cleaning supplies is a barrier to volunteering, let us know and we will reimburse you for cleaning supplies dedicated to fridge cleaning.

During this incredibly difficult time, the team at Moxies Kelowna will be opening our doors to welcome evacuees, hosts, and first responders.

While capacity allows, guests who arrive will enjoy delicious meals hand crafted by our chefs, games alongside others in the community, and a night of distraction from the challenging days that we have all been facing.

We are thinking of you and hope to see you.
