Coming up April 3 at the RCA, CTRL:N, a special co-creation and Flamenco workshop led by Quebec artist Audrey Gaussiran.

In this community-engaged workshop, participants are invited to experience co-creation within their own body. After learning some Flamenco vocabulary, we explore how to adapt these movements to a certain theme.

This workshop is open to all ages and experience levels, and is offered by donation.

The RCA is going big on Salsa in the new year! We're excited to launch four (count 'em, four!) Salsa classes, specifically designed to work together to help you become a strong, confident, and knowledgeable dancer. From February 3-24, we'll be running concurrent Beginner ("From the Ground Up") and Intermediate Salsa classes. Both classes will be led by Gurkan Ulgey. And from March 10-32, we're doing it all over again!

Those enrolled in the Intermediate class are invited to stick around after their lessons (6:30 PM) to join students from the Beginner class (7:30 PM) for a shared, open dance where everyone can learn from their peers. Whether you're starting from the ground up or coming with a bit of experience and knowledge, the RCA has your Salsa needs covered in the new year!

Join us for Salsa From the Ground Up: 4-week Progressive Salsa Series! This 4-week Beginner Salsa class with Gurkan Ulgey will start from the very basics, progress at the average pace of the class, and get you into a more knowledgeable and technically confident level of dancing. Each week’s lesson will continue adding on new material/moves, based on the previous weeks. Students in the progressive lessons can/are encouraged to attend the subsequent half-hour beginner classes for free, followed by the open dance!

Gurkan fell in love with dancing straight after his first Salsa & Bachata lessons in 2011. Since 2012, he has taught, trained, competed and performed in Turkey, USA, and now Canada, training with some world-famous instructors along the way. His main focus is social-dancing, hence focusing on technicality and clarity of leading & following.

The series runs for four (4) weeks, every Thursday starting November 18th from 7:00 PM to 9:00 PM.
