Back in the 70's my grandfather, Vern Drader, started a cattle sales business, El Centro Sales. In the heart of the prairies the company quickly grew and was known for importing cattle from Europe and the United States. I always enjoy my time at the Fish Trap Camp Horsemanship Obstacle Clinic with the BC Back Country Horsemen. Thank-you Butch and Connie Falk for hosting. If you enjoy good horsemanship, good people, good food, good camping and good music, watch for details for future clinics.

It gives us much joy to introduce our two new yearling Paint fillies! Diamond Cut (Bay) and Ocean's Pearl (Grullo) are half sisters by Jumpin Jack Flash. He is known for producing good minded horses and many of you own his offspring. What makes them very special to us is that they are also half siblings to our Chip, Doc Stanley. The fillies are very proudly owned by Garth and Marg Drader and El Centro Equine Services. We are excited to develop them into solid, well-rounded and educated general performance horses.

I think the hardest part about having animals is letting go when it's time to say goodbye. This week it was our time to say goodbye to Doc Stanley, our Chip. Many of you had come to know and love Chip as he helped me teach at clinics, start colts, and compete most notably in Mountain Trail. Due to rapid kidney failure we made the very tough call to lay him to rest on Friday, May 8th. Words cannot express how much we will miss him. We'd like to thank our medical team and Dr. Looper in particular for his professionalism, care and kindness. Friends, life is precious. Cherish time with your loved ones, horses and dogs.
