I'm excited to share the news of our event with you. On Friday, August 23rd we're bringing Kelowna Hockey Fest to Prospera. The day will see multiple events held outside the arena starting at 2:30 pm, including shooting accuracy competitions, food vendors, a beer garden, a merchandise tent, and more.

Then, the event will head indoors for the Kelowna Hockey Fest Pro Game at 6 pm, featuring players such as Ethan Bear (Washington Capitals), Damon Severson (Columbus Blue Jackets), Brenden Dillion (Winnipeg Jets), Joel Edmundson (Toronto Maple Leafs), Tyler Myers (Vancouver Canucks) and Curtis Lazar (New Jersey Devils).

Also set to appear at the event as coaches are Brent Seabrook, Shea Weber (HOF), and Josh Gorges.

The pro game will include a 50/50 raffle and a game-worn jersey auction, with all proceeds going to the YMCA.

The first time I heard about Guy Voyer was in San Diego in a Paul Chek class in 2009. There was talk that he Guy, as an osteopath, had developed techniques using fascial chains for targeted segmental spinal decompression. Guy called these techniques . Hearing about these claims, I immediately ran a google search on Guy Voyer and ELDOA, but so little came up. It wasn’t enough for me to at the time to divert my focus, however I never forgot about the name Guy Voyer DO and ELDOA. It wasn’t until 2015 where an invitation came across my desk to attend and learn Guy Voyer’s ELDOA in its entirety (classic, pathology, skull etc…) along with Myofascial stretching in Sydney Australia. This was finally my opportunity I thought, so I took it. Little did I know, I would be attend the next 9 years studying under Guy Voyer MD DO, and other like minded and passionate students, in cities like Los Angeles, London, Ft. Lauderdale and Santo Domingo. Topics would include: Postruology and the Squat, techniques in circulation and respiration, Proprioception, Osteo-articular joint pumping, Global Postural Stretching, Physical Conditioning, Cinesiology and so much more. The lessons and lectures Guy taught always incorporated so much depth and complexity, as he brought us into his world of bio-tensegrity, organized vs unorganized fasica, and how to properly train and treat it for health and for sport.
Guy truly was a genius, and a pioneer in the realm of osteopathy and sports medicine. In my opinion he has completely changed the face of traditional osteopathy, and his work alone has contributed so much in the evolution of the field of osteopathy, and also the athletic trainer. It’s remarkably profound for someone to come along and add their mark of research and innovation to a medical profession such as osteopathy, yet the amount of work that Guy Voyer MD DO has contributed to this profession is exactly that; remarkably profound.
I’m deeply saddened to hear of Guy’s passing yesterday. The world lost a one of a kind, brilliant doctor who was so generous with his time, energy and knowledge, as he helped so many people.

Today was a winter day.

Fluidpower Personal Training was founded in 2007 in Kelowna, BC. The name is derived from the properties of connective tissue; that mobility of the fluid with-in various tissue structures can influence the role of circulation, architecture (strength/stability), bio-mechanics and the neurology of the body. This is the basis of which tensegrity is founded upon by Buckminster Fuller, but when working with the body, we call it bio-tensegrity. With this model, no program can ever be the same, because each individual is highly unique, along with their goals, needs, wants, likes, and abilities. I’ve stayed true to this paradigm in health, strength training and rehabilitation for 17 years, and I’m still passionate about this work every single day.

Today my training practice operates out of a private 2350sqf facility in downtown Kelowna, and we cover everything from general exercise/health training, to some of the most complex and comprehensive exercise programs for challenging conditions and situations. In addition to programming, I also have a school where I hold education seminars for other health professionals called ELDOA, which once was a branch of the Somatraining program created by world renowned osteopath Dr. Guy Voyer, and ELDOA is now a stand alone program being offered at Fluidpower.

I’m proud of my efforts, my practice and my decision to join the as I believe this growth is an important part of my evolution. I’m excited to grow and meet like other like minded people, and support the businesses and people of my local home town, who have also supported me for the past many years too. Thank you.
