Back 9 Pick of the Week.

Ping G440 MAX Wood Set.

Driver. 3-Wood. 3-Hybrid.

Three clubs from the same family, covering a pretty big chunk of the top end of the bag. The G440 MAX lineup is built around forgiveness, easy speed and consistency — exactly what most golfers could use off the tee and into longer holes.

If you could add one of these to your bag, which are you taking?

Back 9 Pick of the Week.

TaylorMade Burner SuperFast 7-Wood.

Before 7-woods became one of the hottest clubs in golf, TaylorMade was already making them.

Easy launch, plenty of loft, and still a seriously useful option at the top end of the bag. Sometimes the older stuff just works.

How much are you really giving up by playing an older driver?

Modern drivers continue to improve, but that doesn’t mean a driver from a few generations ago suddenly stopped performing.

For well-struck shots, distance differences can be surprisingly small. Where newer drivers tend to make the biggest gains is forgiveness, consistency on mish*ts, adjustability, and fitting options.

The right older driver that fits your swing can still outperform the wrong brand-new one.

How old is the driver in your bag?

What does wedge bounce actually do?

Bounce is the angle between the leading edge of your wedge and the lowest point of the sole — and it can make a big difference in how the club interacts with the turf and sand.

Generally, more bounce can help prevent the club from digging and tends to suit softer conditions or steeper swings.

Less bounce can work well from firmer turf and for players who deliver the club more shallowly or like to manipulate the face around the green.

There isn’t one perfect number for everyone. Your swing, course conditions and the shots you like to play all matter.

Do you know how much bounce is on your wedges?

Back 9 Pick of the Week.

Callaway Apex Ai200 Irons.

A players-distance iron that packs plenty of technology into a clean, forged package. Compact enough to appeal to the better player, with the speed and forgiveness to make them a lot more playable than they look.

One of Callaway’s best-looking iron sets?
