A few fun questions for our graduate Nicola!
How old were you when you started dance?
I was 5 years old when I started Dance
What was your favourite/most memorable routine from your dance years?
My favourite routine was “Somebody to Love” and my most memorable, my lyrical solo from this year!
What was your least favourite costume?
Secrets
What was your favourite competition memory/ memories
Getting off of the stage knowing you did the best you could and feeling good about it.
Being backstage cheering on my teammates and getting ready to perform, as the atmosphere is not comparable to anything.
What have you learned from dance?
I have learned that everything is earned not given, and that through dance you can express yourself in ways that are personal. You can do hard things!
What advice would you give younger dancers?
Stick with it through rough patches when you want to give up. Find the balance between hard work and having fun. Always go back to the basics. If Miss Kara-Lee says watch you exam videos and practice, DO IT!
What are your future plans?
To attend the University of Saskatchewan to get my Bachelor of Science in Nursing, in hopes to become a Paediatric Oncology Nurse. I also am hoping to continue dancing and teaching throughout post-secondary
