I’m so happy to say that our Thursday Evening Yoga classes are retuning this Thursday at the Georgina Ice Palace

Please join me at 5:30pm For a Vinyasa 2/3 class (best suited for those with a general understanding or previous experience with yoga asana). This class has a slightly quicker pace but the focus is in linking movement with breath with a special emphasis on alignment and opening and closing meditation rooted in the teachings of yoga beyond the mat.

And/Or

Slow Flow Yoga from 7-8pm.
This class is suitable for all levels of Asana practice. In this class we take time to fully meet and explore each posture and transition with special emphasis on alignment and opening and closing meditation rooted in the teachings of yoga beyond the mat.

Covid measures are in place but masks are not required once on your mat. Please note that we have very limited space available and registration is required. You can find the link to register in bio.

As many of you have heard by now, we in York region, that practice, or teach the physical practice of yoga, in any group environment, are no longer able to do so. For the next 28 days we are on pause. And I know it sucks, trust me I know, but what do we do with that? Yes, for some there are on-line options, some really incredible ones, for others, with internet issues or other issues, this isn’t always possible.

Here’s what I suggest

1. Find some time every day, even just a few minutes to soften the tension from your body, and feel yourself relaxing and releasing, as you would at the start and end of your physical practice
2. Take the opportunity to delve more into the principals and philosophy of yoga that extend beyond your mat.
3. Set time aside daily to reconnect with your breath, focus on your breath, the rhythm and flow of your inhalation and exhalation and allow that focus to move you into a gentle meditation.
3. Take time out for you. If you were heading into a practice you would be giving yourself a pass to focus solely on you, with no responsibilities to anyone else for that hour. Allow yourself the same grace now.
4. Turn everyday actions into intentional actions of indulgence, self care and ritual. Ie, brushing your hair, taking a shower, making your bed.
5. Move your body: maybe unroll your mat for an intuitively guided, organic movement session. Maybe create some magic in the kitchen while having a dance party. Maybe take beautiful fall walks. Whatever you do, move in a way that feels good to you.
6. Learn about the history of this practice you love so much, and why it’s important that we hold its history, principals, roots and philosophy in reverence now.

While we pause in studios don’t forget to take pauses in your own life

See you soon. Sandie xo

Fall brings forth NEW OPPORTUNITIES!

And with that being said...

I can not contain my excitement anymore!

Our Fall 2020 Yoga Teacher Training registration is opening very soon.

Teacher Training has my heart. Honestly, it is by far one of my favorite aspects of my job.

What an honour it is to witness someone step into their highest potential, move past fear, try something new and become more mindful compassionate individuals, not only to themselves but everyone around them.

I always tell my yoga teacher trainees “ you will gain so much more during this training than just the ability to teach yoga”.

Yoga Teacher Training, can open your eyes to so much more. It goes beyond teaching a perfect yoga class.

It’s about gaining personal awareness, understanding your strengths and weaknesses within yourself, and truly coming back to who you are meant to be.

If you are looking to dive deeper into your practice, become a yoga teacher that speaks to who you are, One Community Wellness is the perfect fit for YOU!

Training starts October 3rd in Newmarket
