WE’RE HIRING! JOIN THE TEAM AT KNC! ❄️

Are you passionate about youth athlete development and Nordic skiing? The Kimberley Nordic Club is looking for two dedicated individuals to join our team for the upcoming season and beyond!

We are currently accepting applications for two key positions:

🔹 Program Manager (Term Contract: Oct 2026 – Apr 2027 with potential for full-time, year-round position in future)
🔹 Assistant Coach – Junior Development (JD) (Annual Contract / Part-Time)

Qualifications Needed:
✅ Active Nordiq Canada Coaching License & NCCP T2T certification (or active progression/eligibility)
✅ Safe Sport training, MED evaluation, and Criminal Record Check ✅ Passion for supporting young skiers along Nordiq Canada’s LTAD framework
✅ Based in (or planning to relocate to) the Kimberley area 📍

Congratulations to all of those who made the Kimberley Terry Fox Run 2026 a success. KNC is proud to be an ongoing partner in this community-led event.

Make Memories, Enjoy the Sunshine! ☀️

Sometimes the best trail stops come from the heart. After a ski with her husband Brad, Mandy Dewart was searching for a special way to honor her parents, Ron and Audrey Wilson. When she paused at Sunshine Corner, halfway around the outer loop, she realized it was the perfect place for a bench or picnic table. With a great view and a peaceful spot to rest, it just made sense.

With support from KNC friend Jim Webster and approval from the Nordic Club, Tyee jumped into action to build a beautiful table, getting it installed by the following ski season.

While the table went up quickly, good things take time! Eleven years later, the commemorative plaque is officially installed:

"Make Memories, Enjoy the Sunshine. In Memory of Ron and Audrey Wilson."

A huge thank you to the Dewart Family (Mandy, Brad, and Kianna) for gifting our community such a wonderful place to pause, eat lunch, and take in the view.

We are so grateful to everyone who has helped create these special spots along our trails to rest, relax, enjoy the moment, and remember those who are no longer with us. Next time you pass Sunshine Corner, take a seat, enjoy the sunshine, and think of Ron and Audrey! 🌲❄️

Membership and program registration goes live this Saturday, August 22nd at 10am!

Membership gets you unlimited skiing and snowshoeing on our extensive trail network, access to program registration, discounts on rentals and special events, and a voice at our AGM. It’s also how you help keep the Kimberley Nordic Club sustainable in the long term: the community, the trails, the club going strong all season long. Whether it’s your kiddo’s first season on skis or you’re working on your technique in the Adult Training group, there’s a program, a peer group and a friendly coach or instructor waiting for you from age 4 to 90+. Our coaches and volunteers are already looking forward to another season of building skills, confidence, and a love of sliding on snow. All programs require a valid KNC membership.

Congratulations to Lizbeth DeJong Shaw and Charlie Ross for receiving the Round the Mountain Legacy Fund scholarship! Both Charlie and Lizbeth are in our Junior Development program and Lizbeth also competes in Biathlon. Both athletes are passionate about racing and community and will use their funds to attend camps to engage in the nordic and biathlon communities and further their training goals!
