Moments like this can be easily pushed aside with the to-do lists, responsibilities, sports, work, and so on…
A practice for myself has been to unplug from tech so I can reconnect with parts of myself that need attention. Not perfection, just purposeful care.
Fortunately, friends have shared a slice of their paradise with us and mornings on the water 1000% helped facilitate this.
Prime Mindset Performance Consulting
I support athletes, performers and those who support them in developing and strengthening their mental game and how to show up with purpose, on purpose.
Rest isn’t just about recovering physically.
It’s about recharging the parts of you that get used every day so you can show up with more energy, presence, and intention.
We often think of rest as sleep or putting our feet up, but we actually need different kinds of rest to truly recharge:
🛌 Physical: sleep, stretching, recovery
🧠 Mental: slowing the constant thinking
🎧 Sensory: stepping away from screens and noise
🌿 Creative: spending time in nature or appreciating art
🤍 Emotional: honesty, boundaries, and being yourself
👥 Social: connecting with people who leave you feeling energized
✨ Spiritual: purpose, meaning, or belonging
Sometimes the exhaustion isn’t because you need more sleep - maybe it’s better quality sleep 😜
Sometimes you need a different kind of rest.
Which type of rest do you need most right now?

If you’re uncertain about where you stand on “winning,” you’re not alone.
Maybe this is a hot take, but I think it’s okay when winning matters to your child.
The problem is when it becomes the only thing that matters.
If your child is competitive, nurture the full picture of competition—not just the win or the loss.
If losing is hard, that’s okay. Caring deeply about something often means feeling disappointed when the outcome isn’t what you hoped for.
The work of parents and coaches is to create relationships and sport environments where athletes internalize:
• I am supported when I win.
• I am supported when I lose.
• I am valued regardless of the outcome.
Sport shouldn’t be about proving your worth through performance.
It should be a place where young people learn that they are already worthy—and that competition is an opportunity to grow, not a measure of who they are.
A break from posting was needed.
This is just a friendly reminder that mindfulness doesn’t have to be another thing to add to your day. You can build it into your routine.
