As we get ready to kick off the 2026/2027 CanSkate season TOMORROW, our coaches and Program Assistants have been hard at work preparing for another great season on the ice!

We can’t wait to welcome all of our new skaters and see all of our returning skaters back at Constantine Arena!

We are so incredibly grateful for our amazing group of Program Assistants, who are such an important part of our CanSkate program. They volunteer countless hours each season, helping our younger skaters learn new skills, build confidence and, most importantly, have fun on the ice!

Thank you for all that you do. We appreciate you more than you know! ♥️⛸️👊🏻

So, you’ve registered your skater, and now it’s time to make sure they feel ready and excited for their first day on the ice!

Our season starts next weekend, September 26/27, and we want every skater to feel confident and prepared when they step onto the ice.

We’ve put together a simple checklist, along with a Guide to Purchasing Skates and Helmets, to help you make sure you have everything you need.

If you still have gear to pick up, now is a great time to do it, especially with “Back to Sport” sales happening!

A few important reminders:
• Please have your skater’s skates sharpened before their first session. Properly sharpened skates make a big difference in helping skaters feel steady and comfortable on the ice.
• Make sure they have all the required equipment and clothing ready to go.
• Give everything a quick check before the first day so your skater can arrive feeling prepared and ready to skate!

We can’t wait to welcome everyone back to the ice!

If you have any questions or need a hand getting ready, we’re always happy to help.
