A stronger core is about much more than visible abs.
Your core helps transfer force between your upper and lower body and keeps your trunk controlled when you walk, lift, carry, balance or train.
If your lower back constantly takes over during simple movements, you struggle to stay stable on one leg or you can only create tension by holding your breath, improving trunk strength and control can be worth working on.
But back pain does not automatically mean you have a weak core.
Pain is more complicated than that and can have many different causes.
The goal is not to brace as hard as possible all day. It’s to build enough strength and control that your body can respond when you actually need it.
