Lake Country Judo Club has been active in Okanagan, Lake Country / Winfield British Columbia since 1981. Founded by Sensei Bob Griechen (Black Belt 5th degree) and his son Keith Griechen (Black Belt 3rd Degree) - the club is currently run by Kathy Hubble (BB 4th degree and 5X Masters World Champion Judo/BJJ) and Chris Smiley (2nd degree BB and 5X Veteran's Canadian Champ) The club has a Kids (4-7), Junior ( 8 - 12 yrs old )and Senior (adult) class ( 13 & up ).

The new season starts this week!
Sept 9 - registration for anyone who missed registration in the summer, from 6-7pm (and games/playtime for Kids/Juniors) and then our regular 7-8:15pm Seniors class.
From then on: (Sept - May season)
Wednesdays/Thursdays:
Kids/Juniors: 6-7pm
Seniors: 7-8:15pm

Lots of changes are happening this upcoming judo season…
Not only a new location with new class days and times, but Judo Canada is also adopting a new system (Dokume) for collecting and managing Judo BC/Judo Canada memberships, with a new online membership portal for members and parents.
We will be sending out links via email to past Judo BC members from our club where they can create their online portfolio, which will then need to be linked to their Judo BC account (check your junk folders if you don’t see it soon). This is where you will be able to purchase your new 2016/27 season Judo BC/Judo Canada membership.
New members who have not had a Judo Canada membership in the past will need to fill out an online membership form using this link:

All judo club members are required to have this completed before we can let you in the mats!
For those advanced members who wish to attend the Fall Training Camp in Vernon September 25-27 with Japanese Olympic Gold medalist Takanori Nagase, the new Judo BC membership is required before you can sign up. This camp usually fills up before the September judo season starts so don’t wait!

The 80’s were like this too! Sensei Kathy did this type of training while on Team Canada.
