Dates and locations for 2027 U-15 RockFest events are now known and announced today by Curling Canada.

The U-15 RockFest, with its strategic blend of training and competition, is a fun one-of-a-kind event that offers young athletes the chance to develop their skills and compete in various skills and triples curling formats against peers from neighbouring provinces and territories.

The events aim to provide young curlers with the skills necessary to develop in all aspects of strategy and technical development. The goal is to help young athletes acquire the tools to reach their maximum potential, whether on a competitive path or playing recreationally.

“The continued collaboration across the country is what strengthens and drives the success of our U-15 RockFest Regional events and Provinces and Territories U-15 RockFest Qualifiers each season,” said Curling Canada’s Manager of Youth Development & Programming, Dustin Mikush. “For 2027, we are grateful to partner once again with dedicated host curling centres and Member Associations to provide meaningful, youth development events where young athletes can learn, compete, and connect.”

Curling Canada, in conjunction with its Member Associations, will run four regional events in 2027, with youth having the opportunity to train and compete at one of the following events:

U-15 RockFest East
Peterborough Golf and Country Club & Lakefield Curling Club | Peterborough & Lakefield, Ont.

Saint John’s event runs alongside the 2027 BKT World Men’s Curling Championship opening weekend, allowing curlers opportunities to compete and watch the best men’s teams in the world compete for a championship next season.

“Curling NB is excited to collaborate with Curling Canada to host the U-15 RockFest Atlantic at Thistle St. Andrews Curling Club during the opening weekend of the 2027 BKT World Men’s Curling Championship,” said Curling NB Executive Director Marg Maranda. “This event offers a fantastic opportunity for young curlers to enhance their skills, engage with fellow curling athletes and find inspiration.”

“U-15 RockFest has been an incredible addition to the NS Curling calendar,” said Jill Brothers, Technical Director, Nova Scotia Curling. “NS Curling has run in-person qualifying events over the last three seasons, seeing growth in participation each year. We have noticed the social opportunities and the athletes are meeting each other with new teams forming in thanks to participating in the NS U-15 RockFest Qualifiers and U-15 RockFest Atlantic.”

“I am really happy that I got to participate in RockFest this year. The experience overall was amazing, I learned a lot of new skills and met so many people. The biggest thing I got from RockFest was a huge boost in my curling confidence. I can’t wait till next year,” said Alice, 2026 U-15 RockFest Prairies participant.

Athletes can qualify for the event through their local Member Association by completing a variety of shots and input their results into Curling Canada’s app, “Skills Curling,” on iOS and Android.

The top curlers from each Member Association will receive an invitation to their regional event based on available quotas.

Curlers under 15 years of age as of Dec. 31, 2026, are eligible.

Date of birth: Jan. 1, 2012 or later.

Minimum age: Curlers must be 11 years of age as of Dec. 31, 2026 (born in 2015, 2014, 2013, or 2012).
