AI IS GETTING SCARY GOOD. AND I'M NOT SURE HOW I FEEL ABOUT IT! 😳
We've all watched those sci-fi movies where computers start thinking for themselves, making decisions, and taking over tasks that humans used to do.
Well, folks, we're getting closer than I ever imagined!
Recently, an AI platform used by one of my clients reviewed their daily schedule.
Sounds pretty normal, right?
Except it didn't stop there.
It provided a detailed rundown of their meetings, including background information that wasn't even included in the calendar invitations.
Impressive? Absolutely.
But here's where my jaw dropped.
The AI identified conflicting meetings, drafted emails requesting that they be rescheduled to specific times, and then ACTUALLY SENT THE EMAILS!
Not just a summary. Not just suggested wording. It took action!
As someone who has spent decades providing executive administrative support, that certainly got my attention.
Because, quite frankly, that's a significant part of what people like me get paid to do!
On the one hand, the possibilities for efficiency are incredible. On the other hand, I can't help but wonder what this means for the future of administrative professionals and so many other careers.
And then there's another question. Just because AI can make decisions and take action on our behalf, does that mean we want it to?
I love technology. I've embraced it throughout my career. But this experience gave me one of those moments where I thought, "Holy cow! Those sci-fi movies weren't so far-fetched after all!"
We're no longer just talking about what AI might be able to do someday. We're watching it happen.
I'm curious. Are you excited about how far AI is advancing, or does it scare you a little too?
