🇨🇦 Happy Canada Day! 🇨🇦

Today we celebrate this incredible country that so many of us are blessed to call home.

My grandfather escaped a concentration camp during the war. He eventually found safety, freedom, and a new beginning in Canada. I was born in Vancouver in 1972, and I’ve proudly called British Columbia home my entire life.

Canada isn’t perfect. No nation is. Great countries are built by good people choosing to do the right thing every day.

I am grateful for the freedoms we enjoy, the opportunities we’ve been given, and the people who continue to work every day to make this country stronger, kinder, and more united.

At Transform Martial Arts, we believe that real strength isn’t measured by how powerful we are—it’s measured by how we treat others.

We teach our students to choose:
🥋 Respect over resentment.
🥋 Courage over fear.
🥋 Discipline over excuses.
🥋 Service over self.
🥋 Unity over division.

Whether inside our school or out in our community, our goal is simple: to leave every person and every place a little better than we found it.

Today, take a moment to enjoy your family, appreciate your friends, thank those who have sacrificed for our freedoms, and remember that each of us has the opportunity to shape the Canada we pass on to the next generation.

From our Transform Martial Arts family to yours…

🇨🇦 Happy Canada Day! 🍁

❤️ Happy Father’s Day from Transform Martial Arts ❤️

Today, we celebrate the dads, grandfathers, stepdads, and father figures who quietly do so much for the people they love.

You’re the early morning drivers, the late-night encouragers, the belt tiers, the tournament supporters, and the biggest fans from the sidelines. You’re the ones who celebrate every victory, help your children through every challenge, and teach lessons that go far beyond the mats.

At Transform Martial Arts, we see the impact you make.

Every time you show up.
Every time you encourage.
Every time you lead by example.

You teach resilience, integrity, discipline, respect, and perseverance—not only through your words, but through your actions.

As a father myself, I know that some of the most meaningful moments in life aren’t found in grand gestures. They’re found in the everyday moments—sharing a laugh, offering support, and simply being present.

Thank you for investing your time, your energy, and your hearts into your families and our TMA community.

To all the amazing dads in our Transform Martial Arts family:

We see you.
We appreciate you.
We celebrate you.

May your Father’s Day be filled with love, laughter, and unforgettable memories with the people who matter most.

With gratitude,

Sr. Master Shane Rahn & The Transform Martial Arts Team

🌸 Happy Mother’s Day to the Incredible Moms of Transform Martial Arts! 🌸

Today, we celebrate the amazing women who do so much behind the scenes to help their children grow stronger in class and in life.

You are the early risers, the chauffeurs, the motivators, the cheerleaders, and the steady source of love and encouragement. You sit through classes, attend tournaments, tie belts, wipe tears, celebrate victories, and remind your children that they are capable of more than they realize.

You teach perseverance, respect, discipline, and confidence—not just with your words, but through your example.

At Transform Martial Arts, we know that every strong student is supported by someone who believes in them wholeheartedly. More often than not, that person is Mom.

Thank you for your sacrifices.
Thank you for your patience.
Thank you for your unwavering support.
Thank you for being the heart behind their strength.

From all of us at Transform Martial Arts, we see you, we appreciate you, and we celebrate you.

❤️ Happy Mother’s Day! ❤️

Dear Parents and Families,

To support a safe and healthy training environment for all students and instructors, we are implementing a formal Student Illness Policy at Transform Martial Arts.

We have recently seen an increase in illness within the school, which has begun to impact both student attendance and instructor availability. As a close-contact activity, Taekwondo training can contribute to the spread of illness if precautions are not followed. This policy is intended to reduce that risk and maintain consistent, high-quality classes for everyone.

The policy is aligned with current public health guidance from the BC Centre for Disease Control and HealthLink BC.

Key Expectations:
- Students must stay home if they are experiencing symptoms such as cough, fever, runny nose, vomiting, or general unwellness

- A minimum 24-hour symptom-free period is required after vomiting or diarrhea before returning to class

- Students must be well enough to fully participate without persistent coughing or fatigue

- If a student appears unwell during class, they will be removed and a parent/guardian will be contacted for pickup

- If your child becomes ill after attending class, particularly with respiratory or gastrointestinal symptoms, please notify us so we can monitor accordingly

We ask that you take this policy seriously. Keeping a sick child home is essential to protecting others, supporting instructor health, and ensuring classes continue without disruption.

The full policy is attached for your reference.

We appreciate your cooperation and your continued commitment to the health and well-being of our Transform Martial Arts family.

If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to reach out.

Thank you so much for your Co-operation!
