100 Years of LUSA. A New Home for Generations to Come.
For 100 years, soccer has brought Langley families together.
And now, as we celebrate our centennial, Smith Athletic Park is helping us build something that will serve generations to come.
Three new synthetic fields opened in September 2025. Our indoor soccer and training facility is taking shape, with completion anticipated in early 2027.
This journey began with years of advocacy, planning and community commitment.
In 2022, Mayor Eric Woodward and his team, then running under Contract With Langley and now known as Progress for Langley, included a commitment to develop a youth soccer campus in partnership with LUSA.
Council approved the outdoor and indoor phases in 2024 and 2025. Today, families are playing on the new fields, and our next chapter is taking shape.
We recognize Mayor Woodward, Township Council, staff and the many community partners who have helped bring this vision forward.
But Smith is about so much more than soccer.
It's about children making their first friends, parents and grandparents gathering along the sidelines, volunteers building relationships, and families from neighbouring communities coming together in Langley.
Not simply a place to play soccer. A place to belong.
As we approach the October 17 municipal election, we encourage every eligible resident to learn about the candidates, understand their commitments and records, and vote according to their convictions.
