The Western Canadian Baseball League is locked in with Sentinel Storage.

One of the top umpires in the Western Canadian Baseball League has been recognized for his officiating achievements across several sports in Alberta.

Kris Hartley - who serves as an umpire and an assignor for the 12-team WCBL - was presented with a Technical Official Recognition Award at the Alberta Sports Hall of Fame Class of 2026 induction ceremony on June 6th in Red Deer.

Hartley was also named the winner of the Mitch Ball Memorial Award as the 2024 Umpire of the Year in the WCBL.

Brady Bye is the SK Player of the Week, presented by SaskTel

The hard-hitting Regina Red Sox infielder, who is the reigning WCBL Playoff MVP, got off to a stellar start to the summer collegiate season.

Bye launched four long balls and manufactured 16 runs batted in (RBI) to shoot up the league leader boards in both statistical categories. The Regina product also registered 16 hits, 10 runs and six stolen bases over his first nine games of the 2026 campaign between Opening Day on May 28th and Sunday, June 7th.

Carter Claerhout is the AB Player of the Week, presented by Village Brewery

Through his first eight games with the Lethbridge Bulls Baseball Club, Carter Claerhout has 15 hits, including three doubles, while scoring seven runs, producing nine RBI and registering a .441 batting average. The 6-foot-1, 240-pound infielder also has four stolen bases.
