• Children 12 and under are free with an adult

The Town of Lewisporte is trying to locate the owner of a black and white cat that was found deceased near the police station.

If you believe this may be your cat, please contact the Town Office at 535-2737.

We understand this may be difficult news and extend our sympathies to the owner.

Yesterday marked an historic and exciting new chapter for the Town of Lewisporte!

The Provincial Government has announced a $14-million agreement to support the transfer of the Lewisporte wharf and associated lands to the Town and help transform our wharf infrastructure and associated lands into a catalyst for economic growth, investment and new opportunities.

On behalf of Council and the residents of Lewisporte, I extend our sincere appreciation to the Government of Newfoundland and Labrador for its confidence in our community and its significant support for this important initiative. A special thank-you to Minister Barry Petten for working with the Town to secure a positive path forward, and to our MHA, Mark Butt, for his continued advocacy and commitment to ensuring Lewisporte’s priorities are heard within government.

I also thank Senator David Wells for his interest in the Lewisporte wharf and in the future economic development of our community.

The Lewisporte wharf has played an important role in our town’s proud marine history. Today, we have an incredible opportunity to reimagine this asset and position Lewisporte for future investment, employment and long-term economic development.

This is a significant win—not only for Lewisporte, but for our entire region. The work now begins, and we are excited about the possibilities ahead!

Work is currently underway on the boardwalk from Robert Street toward Woolfrey’s Pond.

Residents and visitors are asked to use caution when travelling through the area, as equipment and crews may be present along the trail.

We appreciate your patience and cooperation while these improvements are being completed.

Public Council Meeting
Please be advised that there will be a Public Council Meeting tonight starting at 7:00 P.M.

The meeting will be live-streamed on Facebook. Doors will open at 6:50 P.M. for those who would like to attend in person.

BATTLE OF THE BADGES – CHARITY SOFTBALL GAME!

Come out and cheer on our local heroes as NLHS Paramedics take on Lewisporte Regional Fire-Rescue in a friendly charity softball showdown!

There will be a 50/50 ticket draw, and donations will be collected in support of Wounded Warriors Canada.

Interested in on-water search and rescue?

The Canadian Coast Guard Inshore Rescue Base is on site at the Lewisporte Marina from the May 24th weekend through Labour Day weekend.

This is a great opportunity for students who may be interested in learning more about on-water search and rescue services and exploring a possible future career on the water.
