For the next 3 or 4 weeks I will be teaching a progression toward headstand. Starting with the basics-where to place your head-how to set your arms-where to push-safety of the neck. As we move from step to step you can stay in your comfort zone and keep practicing what feels available to you-and if you feel ready-progress. Through this you will learn the how. It is known as the king of asana. Sirsasana.

Come out and explore and play.

On the Mat in Halifax

We will explore the important non-negotiables for a healthy & strong handstand. Compression of the hips, length in the back body, shoulder mobility and stability, straight arm strength, external rotation, core strength and tips for how to get out if your head!

That is a lot-we will touch all of those points. So much to learn!

I will ensure that you leave with some very important things to practice to get on your hands and/or improve your line!

Covering 6:30pm Power Flow at On the Mat tomorrow. First time I will be sharing an ebb and flow style practice. Excited! Long-long holds with this sequence. 60 sec/ up to 10 breaths per pose.

Flow from last night’s class. If you want to do it from where you are-each shape is 5 breaths. When you get to your back there was more core work-10 solid breaths-max lift while honouring the low back…

This practice is all about finding flow. Tapas translates to heat-yoga to me is like alchemy-transformation. This is exactly what a great heat does. Get ready to sweat and melt. Get ready to feel freedom in body and mind.
