The coffee was still hot.
Someone made you laugh.
The dog fell asleep beside you.
You caught a beautiful sky on the drive home.

Nothing life-changing happened.

It was just… good.

Maybe we don’t always need to make those moments mean more than they do.
Maybe noticing them is enough.

“Dominique supported me throughout my prenatal journey with so much knowledge, patience, and kindness. Her expertise in the pelvic floor and overall body awareness made a huge difference in how confident and comfortable I felt during pregnancy.

I always felt safe, understood, and well-guided in her classes.”

Thank you, Rachel. 🤍

There’s a reason those last three words mean so much to me: Safe. Understood. Well-guided.

Because learning about your pelvic floor shouldn’t make you MORE afraid to move.

And it shouldn’t feel like you’ve suddenly been handed a completely separate set of exercises because you’re pregnant, postpartum or dealing with a pelvic-floor concern.

The goal is to help you understand what’s happening in your body, give you strategies that make sense for YOU, and then help you use them while you actually move.

Rachel’s experience happened during pregnancy.

But that feeling of being safe, understood and well-guided?

That’s what I want for everyone I coach.

Not Your Mama’s Kegels, Episode 1.

I went to pelvic-floor physio because I peed my pants making dinner.

I left wondering: how do I bring this into regular exercise?

Turns out, that question would completely change how I coach.

Sometimes what you’re feeling tells me, “Yep, keep going.”
Sometimes it tells us we need to change something.

That’s why I keep asking questions.

Your job isn’t to make your body fit the exercise.

The exercise can change to fit YOU.

There is almost always going to be one more thing you could be doing.

One more email.
One more load of laundry.
One more thing to cross off the list.

If we wait until everything is finished before we let ourselves pause, we might be waiting a while.

Today’s Mindful Monday is a few minutes to stop before everything is done.

Not because the things waiting for you don’t matter.

Just because you don’t have to finish all of them before you’re allowed to take a breath.

Personal training doesn’t have to mean seeing a trainer three times a week. It CAN.

And for some people, that amount of hands-on support is exactly what they want or need.

But it can also look like: Working together regularly in person.

Combining in-person sessions with workouts you complete through my training app.

Or working together completely online, with programming, feedback, communication and nutrition coaching built into your plan.

There isn’t one version that counts as “real” personal training.

There’s the version that gives you the kind of support you actually need.

And you don’t have to know what that is before you reach out.

That’s why I offer a free personal-training consultation.

We’ll talk about your goals, your schedule, how you like to train, how much support you’re looking for and where having a coach involved might actually be useful.

Then we can figure out what makes sense from there.

No need to choose the maximum just because it’s available.

We have a strange habit of treating the maximum as the minimum.

Give someone 8–12 reps and suddenly 12 becomes the number they’re “supposed” to do.

Give them 3–4 sets and obviously they should do 4.

Tell someone 2–4 workouts per week could be appropriate and it can very quickly become: Well, if I’m taking this seriously, I should do 4.

But that’s not necessarily how good programming works.

A rep range is a RANGE for a reason.

If 8 repetitions is appropriately challenging with the load you’re using and for what you’re trying to accomplish, I don’t automatically need you to do 12 simply because that's the number on the page.

In fact, always believing you need to reach the top of the range can affect the weight you choose. You may pick something lighter because you’re trying to make sure you have enough in the tank to get all the way to 12.

Sets and training frequency work the same way.

Sometimes the top of the range makes sense.

Sometimes the bottom does.

Sometimes we’re somewhere in the middle.

The goal isn’t to automatically do the least amount possible either.

The goal is to choose the amount of work that makes sense for you, your goal and what we’re trying to accomplish in this phase of your training.

More is not automatically better.

And taking your goals seriously doesn’t mean choosing the hardest possible version of every plan you’re given.

I’m not testing you. There’s no secret correct answer.

🏋️‍♀️ “I feel it in my thigh.”

🏋️‍♀️“My shoulder feels weird.”

🏋️‍♀️“I don’t feel anything.”

🏋️‍♀️“I have absolutely no idea.”

It’s ALL information.

And it tells me something I can’t always see from the outside.
