A lot of golfers think lower scores come from making more birdies.

Usually, they come from making fewer doubles and fewer mistakes that result in penalties.

Golf gets easier when your misses stay playable.

That’s a big part of how we coach at Canadian Fade Golf Academy — helping golfers build the skills that make the game more repeatable and less costly.

If you want to score better without feeling like you need perfect golf, our Clear Path to Consistency Program is a great place to start.

Yes, better players usually hit it farther.

But the real difference is how often they hit their solid shot, not how far their best one goes.

A well-struck drive from a mid-handicap golfer is often long enough. The bigger issue is how often that solid shot shows up.

Our Supervised Practice Sessions help golfers get the most out of their practice, by helping golfers understand not only what to practice to but how to practice.

Purposeful Practice will get you hitting your good shots more often.

To Break 100, your driver does not need to be perfect. It needs to be playable often enough.

For a Break 100 men’s driver goal, have a Consistency Window where you carry it at least 180 yards and keep it within 47 yards left or right of your target line.

That is the “good enough” shot. Every tee shot you hit doesn't need to be perfect, just to have 80% of your shots fall within these parameters.

The skill behind it: Solid Contact first, then enough Face/Path Control to keep the ball in play.

Practice idea: Start with Centre-Contact, work using foot spray or impact tape.

Before changing your swing, find out where you’re actually striking the face and see if there is an opportunity for improvement there.

A Break 90 Driver does not have to split every fairway.

Drives have to travel far enough and stay playable often enough.

For women working toward Break 90, the Clear Path to Consistency Driver Goal is:
Have 80% of your drives carry 165+ yards
Have 80% of your drives land within 36 yards of your target

That is a very playable tee shot.

The key skill is not just speed. It is matching Strike, Start Direction, and Curve so your normal shot pattern stays under control.

Practice idea: Use foot spray on the face for 10 Drives. Your ball flight will make more sense once you know where impact is happening on the face of your driver.

For a Break 90 golfer, the driver goal is not “Hit Bombs.” It is useful distance with survivable misses.

Clear Path to Consistency - Break 90 Men’s Driver window:
195+ yds Carry
Within 43 yds Offline left or right

That is the type of tee shot that still gives you a chance to play the hole normally.

Better players are not just longer. They hit fewer drives that create Penalty Shots and Punch-Outs.

Skill Focus: Club-Face awareness + Centre Contact.

Practice Idea: Launch Window Drill. Start the ball through a predictable "Gate" (club-face) and then if needed worry about lessening the curve and club-path.

A good drive for a Break 100 player is not always a “wow” shot. It is a shot that keeps you moving forward.

For a Break 100 women’s driver goal, work on getting your drives to carry 150+ yards of and land within 39 yards of your target.

Your first goal may not always be chasing max distance. You may benefit by simply hitting your drives solid enough to the carry you need and avoid big sideways misses.

Main Skills to reach this Goal:
Centre Contact, Launch Direction, Miss control.

Practice Idea: Use the "Through the Sticks" drill or foot spray to start finding the middle of the face more often.
