For the first time in program history, one of our own has been selected in the CPL U-Sports draft. Ibrahem Saadi, our first year centre back, was selected sixth in the second round to Pacific FC. This is a big milestone for Ibrahem and for the history of this program. Congratulations and we wish you the best of luck Ibrahem!

Today the Mustangs take on the Varsity Blues in Toronto at 3pm. A great chance for some new and familiar faces to put on the purple and build some confidence before the OUA season begins 🐎 🟣⚪️

WESTERN MEN’S AND WOMEN’S SOCCER ARE IN THE PLAYOFFS!

Men face-off against Waterloo Warriors at home on Wednesday, while the Women have a bye first round🐎

From 1975-79 Rocco “Rock” Basacco played for the Mustangs with many notable accomplishments from OUA Top goal scorer to the Purple Blanket award. He went on to become a pivotal builder and leader of the Soccer program here at Western during his time coaching from 1995-2016 and was heavily involved in recruitment after that. He is dearly missed by the Western Soccer family and alumni.

The Western Soccer Community invites the public, family and friends to remember and celebrate the life and contributions of Rock Basacco, former Head Coach of Western's Soccer teams, valued teammate and dear friend.

A Celebration of Life will take place on Saturday Oct 8, 2022, followed by both the Men's and Women's Soccer games.
