Those that have known me for a long time know how that I’ve been in the glute (b***y) training game since long before it was trendy!


It’s one of my favourite muscles to train, and it also happens to be the most common area that folks come to me for help with.


Over the years I’ve learned sound principles when it comes to training the glutes, as well as what NOT to do, how to stay safe while making progress.

3 variation of pigeon pose!

Yoga is not about forcing your body into poses that don’t work for your body….it’s about finding what does work.

Within every pose are variations.

3 Pigeon pose variation:
-traditional Pigeon, play with the angel of the knee to find what feel like a stretch but no pain.
-Pinwheel: I use this often, keep the knees bent, one leg in front and one behind/side.
-Eye of the needle: lay on your back, cross one ankle over the other knee, stay here it that feels good. If you want more of a stretch, thread hands thru legs and hold the thigh as you lift the foot off the ground.

3 ways to stay consistent!

1. Realistic: In order to get results, we need to be consistent, in order to be consistent, we need to be realistic.

What can you realistically do consistently, with confidence? Start there.

2. Change your mindset: When it comes to exercise, you don’t need to crush it for an hour to “make it count”.

You don’t need to feel like you’ve just “got your ass kicked” for exercise to be effective.

5 minutes of exercise is better than none. And that’s the mentality that fosters consitency. It’s not about doing the same thing each time but showing up, imperfectly. Let go of the “all or nothing” thinking, it’s likely getting you no where.

3. Support works: Lastly, in order to stay consistent most of us need help. Getting guidance, and support is key to long term success.

Glute stretch🍑

Begin in a pinwheel with knees at 90 degrees. Walk the hands in front and fold over the leg.

Don’t fold from the back, but from the hip.

If you feel any pinching in the hip or knees play with the positioning of of the leg.

Use different angles until you feel a nice stretch in the bum! Hold for 1 minute while breeeeeathing😌

Try this pre or post work out OR BOTH!😁

This is also a great stretch for...anytime
