High Hoops

Hi everyone, my page High Hoops is active again as I am back in Canada from our amazing winter home in Venice, Florida.
I hooped through parts of Britain and Wales last September on a narrow boat and along canal footpaths as my travel hoop goes everywhere I go.
Along with my daily workouts, I had the opportunity to substitute teach some classes for my teacher in Florida and to develop more lesson plans for my up coming classes in Grand Bend and London.
GRAND BEND: Starting on Saturday June 2, and continuing throughout the Saturdays in the summer, I will be running two classes, one for kids and one for adults. They are going to be taught at Klondyke Trailer Park located between Grand Bend and the Pinery. If you are in the area and would like to attend let me know and I will give you the particulars.
LONDON: My other adult class will be on Tuesday evenings 7:30 - 8:30 outside of Summerside Community Church, 1447 Commisioners Rd E. starting Tuesday 5th for four weeks. This is the second year teaching these classes at Summerside Community Church and I am so grateful to them for providing this wonderful venue.
Everyone is welcome. Come with a friend, with a daughter, a granddaughter, or come by yourself and make a friend! Different size and weight hoops provided. Super fun and a guaranteed great workout. Cost is $5.00 per class - ha, less than a latte!!!

Taught one of my teachers classes in Island Walk , Venice, Florida this morning. 27C/ 80F, doesn't get much better!

Hooping on the beach in Florida!!! Getting all warmed and hooped up for our return to Canada in May - and of course resuming hoop classes in London and Grand Bend - will keep you informed as to start dates!!!!!!

Taught a hula fit class this morning in my neighborhood of Island Walk, Venice, Florida . Substitute teaching for my mentor and teacher, Heather, for a few weeks while she is out of town - good practice for resuming teaching Hula Fit classes on my return to Canada in April!!

The beauty of hooping is you can do it almost anywhere - Probably not on an airplane- but certainly on a Narrow Boat in England and Wales. I can even find someone to give lessons to!!!

Super fun lesson with a group of cottager at Balsalm Lake. What an enthusiastic group of women - they were all rocking the hoop by the end of the hour!!

So my son Christian, who is an amazing piper and is visiting with his girlfriend Kate from where they live in Taiwan, kept telling me how much fun it would be for me to hoop while he played the pipes. I was resistant at first cause the pipes don't need anything added to them, but I caught my son's fun loving spirit and below are a couple of videos, one waist hooping to Highland Cathedral and the next is hand hooping to Amazing Grace -

So just from a road trip out West and now diligently working on my hand hooping skills and LOVING all the flowing traditional movement. I plan to have a beginners hand hooping workshop in August - if you are interested please contact me here or [email protected]
