Great day on Lake St. Clair with my buddy Ken Van De Wal.

We caught a bunch of quality smallmouth and managed to put together a solid 23.8 lb bag! 🎣

Sometimes the cheapest lures can deliver the biggest surprises.
I tied on a cheap topwater lure not really knowing what to expect.
After missing a fish on the first strike, I threw it back out there and got another chance.
This time, I connected — and what followed was one hell of a fight with a tank smallmouth bass.
Proof that a lure doesn't have to cost a fortune to catch a quality fish.

Ice fishing season isn’t too far away, so here’s a little motivation to get you in the mood. 🎣❄️

We were supposed to be fishing for walleye through the ice when something completely unexpected took my bait.

What followed was an incredible battle, a catch I never expected, and a moment I’ll never forget.

Even my guide couldn’t believe what had just come through the ice.

Sometimes the best fishing stories are the ones you never see coming.

Today was redemption day! 🎣

Huge thanks to my friend Paul for taking me out on his boat today. We caught a pile of fish, had a lot of laughs, and I even learned a few new things along the way.
Finished off a great day with a little shore fishing. 😁

Definitely made up for yesterday!

It was a tough day of fishing today, but you know what? It really doesn’t matter. I had a great time exploring new water, enjoying the outdoors and just seeing where the day took me.

I did lose an absolute giant pike though… and yeah, that one hurt. 😂🎣

Finally caught some quality fish today! 🎣 Not a lot of them, but enough to put a smile on my face.

Beautiful weather made it a perfect day to do some shoreline exploring and make a few casts. Sometimes that’s all you need. 👍
