Thamesford Lawn bowl club

The Thamesford lawn bowling club has permanently closed its doors. The property has been sold and some members joined the Embro lawn bowling club. This page is no longer active. Thanks to all the members that have put all their effort into keeping the lawn bowling club going in the last few years. I am sure that in the future their will be a renewed interest in lawn bowling. We just could not keep the club going that long.

Hi everyone,
Tonight no lawn bowl.
We know we all are anxious to begin our season, but again the grounds are still soaked with water and we would damage the greens if we attempted to play on it.
We will keep our fingers crossed for coming Tuesday. Lets hope we can finally start playing. Wishing everyone a warmer/dryer rest of the season.

Bowling is cancelled for tonight. The greens are too wet. We will try again on Thursday.

We have found a new groundskeeper so we can rest at ease.

Thamesford Lawn Bowling club on Dundas street starts a new season.

A new exciting season is upon us. On May 28th we have our first club play night. It starts at 7 PM sharp and runs until 9 PM. We play on Tuesdays and Thursdays. Please come out and try the game. You can play the first 3 nights at no cost and there will always be members present that are willing to teach you. This game that has an undeserved aura of a seniors game but it is great for all ages. For two hours you are out and about and moving. Although it is not a heavy workout you will feel that you have been busy. We have extra equipment available for you. Just wear flat shoes and you can play. There will be some rainout time. If it pores, we don't play.

On Wednesday evenings, starting in July, we have a group for special needs children and young adults. If you want more info or want to donate time or money, please contact Ann Donald at

Lawn bowl has gone into the winter stop. Greens need to be made winter ready and our members need to be ready to start carpet bowling on Wednesday mornings at 10.00 AM sharp. Please be a little early so we know how many players to set up for. Everyone is welcome.

Hello All,
Carpet Bowling resumes at the Thamesford District Community Centre (arena hall)
on Wednesday, October 10th , starting at 10:00 am.
A small fee applies each week to cover the minimum rental charges. All equipment
is provided, just wear some indoor shoes. Instruction will be available, in case
you haven't been out before.
