Well our move went very smoothly and all the horses are happy at their new digs! Just want to THANK all the students who helped in so many ways, from helping find things we needed( still a few things on that list ;) ), helping organize and clean up at the new place and all the extra hands doing the actual move....thank you Katie/ Karen / Amanda / Ann / Stephanie / Sara / Ann / Mark / Barb / Mike/ Don /Diane/Jennifer / Patty / Mya/ Selena/ Deb / Zee ,you guys are all the best!! Also special thanks to Maja who showed up to her lesson today bearing a most thoughtful and beautiful gift...a new mounting block she has been working on in her shop class( I sure hope the teacher gave you an A plus plus because it’s stunning ) . I sure hope I didn’t forget anyone ( if I did I am so sorry, I’m old ;) ) Just goes to prove once again we have the greatest bunch of students!!:) HUGS EVERYONE...Looking forward to seeing you all soon! Well this is an easy one us older riders can try

Qualities that make a good leg-yield:

✅ The horse moves both forwards and sideways on two tracks.
✅ The rhythm and tempo remains consistent.
✅ The horse's body stays straight with the shoulders about one hoofprint in front of the hindquarters, and a very slight flexion at the poll away from the direction of travel.
✅ If in trot, the horse's inside legs pass and cross in front of the horse's outside legs.
✅ The horse moves freely forward, working through his back without tension or resistance, and the balance is uphill.
✅ The contact is elastic and consistent.
✅ There is a clear start and end to the movement.
✅ The positioning of the leg-yield remains the same throughout the movement, without steep or shallow variations.
