The Black Card

A true player knows the game inside and out. That not only means the shots and plays, but the rules too. Any amateur could tell you what warrants yellow and red cards in badminton. But how many players know that there even is a black card?

The mysterious black card has the power to disqualify players from matches and tournaments. It's only used in cases of major forms of misbehaviour on court, such as losing intentionally and violence towards a competitor or an umpire. During the 2012 London Olympics uproar and frenzy spread across the global badminton community as an astounding eight players from four different countries were issued black cards!

Sounds extreme, but anything can happen when tempers flare! Remember to stay cool to avoid the happening!
