Hello Racers , the 2027 winter snow drag season is coming quickly , as you can see the " Drag in the Mag " track is being extended to 1600 feet for the coming season series of races . This will allow SOS Drags to offer a proper environment for the much requested class of PRO 55 sleds for 2027 . SOS Drags would like to take the time to thank the property owner Dean Stewart and our SOS staff for making this happen for the racers in coming season.
Lots of great news for racers coming over the next few weeks , but as usual " Hay Days " grass drags is on this weekend and it is getting us in the mood . Get your rides ready hopefully snow is only 7 or 8 weeks away .

Our King of the Mag winner was Curt King from Sudbury area with his killer Turbo Yamaha , in fact he won both Magnetawan events this Year. Awesome year for him with SOS Drags - Southern Ontario Sno Drag Races who's going to challenge ?.

Yesterday was just a great day for SOS Drags - Southern Ontario Sno Drag Races our racers and spectators for the second event in Magnetawan this year . Our Philip Weddel Memorial race was won by Taylor Welsh from Huntsville Ontario who is one of our Volunteers and is a fitting winner of this inaugural award. We'd like to thank the Weddel family along with Marshall Well Drilling , TXM Motorsports , Peacock signs and Magnetawan Truck and Trailer for their additional support .

At every SOS Drags - Southern Ontario Sno Drag Races event there are always a few special stories to be told. This one needs to be shared with all. A spectating family of 5 was there and taking in the day's excitement. They connected with Ted Greenwood in the pit area and the parents, Scott and Michelle said their 7 year old daughter Tayha had mentioned she would like to race ! . I asked her if she had ever driven a kids snowmobile before , she shook her head no but the parents said she has a small atv at home on the farm and drives it very well.
I asked her if I could talk someone into allowing her to try a mini snowmobile would she try it, she nodded yes..Special Thanks goes out to Karen & Sonny Tanton of Magnetawan who generously offered that ride. With a few quick pointers by myself and Sonny we pointed her to the starting line...Light turned green she just looked at me, go I say...shes off...does the trip down the track makes the turn and returns back ...Karen Tanton asked our young Tayha would she like to enter the Jr 120 class and race, she nods yes. Her parents agree and we have out 41st junior racer of the day...

SOS Drags - Southern Ontario Sno Drag Races would like to thank all the racers and spectators for making our February 14th race in our " Drags in the Mag " series in 2026 a real success. Mother Nature blessed us with zero wind and a -1 degree temp that made the day perfect for snow drag racing. We had the largest number of Junior racers we've ever had with 41 young competitors !. They were rewarded with double the track time during the day for their support. Our food vendor sold out of everything they had , which also was a first for the location at 100 Jackson Road. Yes, there were some challenges and as always our volunteers and staff did a great job to overcome them, making this event a total success for everyone.
