Three Journaling Questions For When You Feel Like You’re Failing at Everything 🩷
If you’re overwhelmed and feeling like you’re not doing enough at work, at home, for your family, or for yourself, try this.
I did this journaling practice today because I was feeling that exact way. I had a lot on my plate and could feel myself focusing almost entirely on where I was falling short.
1. WHAT AM I GRATEFUL FOR? ✨
Not to force positivity, but to remember what is good, supportive, and meaningful in the middle of a hard season.
2. WHAT IS ACTUALLY TRUE RIGHT NOW? 📝
Separate the facts from the self-criticism. What have you actually done? What is actually happening? What evidence challenges the story that you’re failing?
3. WHAT AM I DOING WELL? 💛
Instead of only noticing what you haven’t done, take inventory of what you ARE doing. What are you proud of? Where are you showing up? What are you handling better than you’re giving yourself credit for?
These questions do not make the hard things disappear, but they can help you see your situation more clearly and move forward from a more supportive place.
THIS IS EXACTLY THE KIND OF WORK WE’LL DO IN RECLAMATION ✨
In my new 4-week group coaching program, we’ll tackle the overwhelm, guilt, self-criticism, lack of time, and feeling that you are constantly putting yourself last.
We’ll work on both the mindset AND the practical side, with coaching, reflection tools, tangible resources, and support to help you create more space, calm, clarity, and agency in your life.
If that sounds like the support you need right now, you can learn more about RECLAMATION through the link in my bio. 🤍

Eek!!! I am SO excited to finally share this. 💗
I have been holding this one close for a little while, and today I finally get to say it: RECLAMATION is officially open. 🎉
And for the first time EVER, I am offering a group coaching program.
This feels like such an exciting evolution of the work I have been doing with women for years because I wanted to create a completely different kind of support container.
I deeply believe in the power of coaching: having dedicated space to step outside the noise of everyday life, get honest about what is happening, clarify what you want, and move from “I know something needs to change” to actually doing something about it.
But group coaching adds something really special: You are not doing this work alone.
You get the benefit of coaching plus the insight, encouragement, perspective, and connection that comes from being in a room with other women who are also carrying careers, families, relationships, caregiving, invisible labour, expectations, logistics, and a LOT of mental tabs open at once.
There is real relief in hearing another woman say something you have been feeling too. There is learning in watching someone else work through a boundary, a difficult conversation, or a decision that looks a lot like your own.
And this format also lets me offer a much more accessible way to work with me than ongoing private coaching, while still creating a high-support, meaningful experience.
RECLAMATION is for women who are tired of constantly managing life while slowly disappearing inside it.
Over four weeks, we are going to look at what you are carrying, what is standing in the way, what needs to change, where you need more support, and how to create more room for yourself within the life you are actually living.
This is not about escaping your responsibilities.
It is about creating a life where you get to exist alongside everything and everyone you care about.
RECLAMATION begins October 14 and enrollment is now OPEN. ✨ (Spots are limited)
I genuinely cannot wait to see who joins me for this first group.

This is one of the biggest traps I see women fall into.
Deep down, they know they are craving more. Perhaps more peace, more time for themselves, more travel, more success, or (god forbid!) more money.
But then as soon as they catch themselves desiring more, the guilt hits instantly. We feel like we should be grateful for what we have. Or we feel like desiring more means we do not love and appreciate the life we have.
But this is your reminder that life is not an EITHER/OR it can be a BOTH/AND.
We can BOTH love parts of our life, and be sooooo grateful for things we have AND also be honest with ourselves that maybe we want things to look or feel a bit different, that maybe we would change some things if we could.
You can be deeply thankful for your children and still miss having time that belongs to you.
You can appreciate your career and still know it is draining the life out of you.
You can love your partner and still need the load to be shared differently.
You can honour the life you have built and still feel called toward something more.
Wanting more is not a betrayal of what you already have.
Sometimes it is the most honest thing you can say.
And often, it is where the next chapter begins.
So today, my wish for you is for you to dream, and to desire without guilt.
If you could shed the guilt… what would you ask for?
With love,
Danielle

I am so happy to see that the mental load is finally being talked about more, because women have been quietly carrying the invisible labour of family life for generations.
But I also think some of the conversation is still too shallow.
Too much of it becomes about chore charts, better communication, asking for help, or getting more organized.
And I think we need to be more real than that.... The mental load is new age patriarchy in action.
It is the modern version of keeping women responsible for the home, the children, the emotions, the planning, the remembering, the anticipating, and the constant noticing of what everyone else needs.
We tell ourselves we are just better at it, or that it is easier if we do it ourselves.
But women were not born better at managing everyone’s lives.
We were trained.
And the patriarchy benefits when women are exhausted.
Because when we are buried under everyone else’s needs, we have less energy to ask what we want, build what we want, fight for what we want, or rise up against the systems that keep benefiting from our exhaustion.
The patriarchy is a virus.
It will morph into whatever it needs to in order to survive.
And if it can no longer openly tell women to stay small, it will quietly keep us too tired to expand.
That is why the mental load is not just a household issue.
It is a feminist issue. It is a societal issue.
