Two weeks out from the Toronto Waterfront Marathon, the goal isn’t to squeeze in more training.

Your mileage should be coming down, while some marathon-pace running stays in the plan. Strength work can continue too, but this close to race day, it shouldn’t leave you fighting through unnecessary fatigue.

Recovery also deserves more attention now. Sleep, nutrition, and those little aches that have accumulated over the past few months can all affect how you feel heading into race week.

Got something that’s been bothering you during your marathon build? Book an assessment with The Lab.

When stiffness starts changing how you move, train, or recover, assisted stretching can give you another way to work on it.

Keona is now offering Fascial Stretch Therapy at The Lab. FST is performed on a treatment table, with the practitioner guiding your body through different positions and ranges of motion rather than having you stretch on your own.

It can be used to work on mobility and areas that feel restricted, whether you’re training regularly, returning to activity, or simply looking for more guided mobility work.

Interested in trying FST? Book a session with Keona at The Lab.

First responders spend long shifts taking care of everyone else. When something starts affecting how you move, work, train, or recover, it’s worth getting it looked at.

The Lab Sports Med offers 50% off your first treatment for first responders.

Our team can assess what’s going on, help address the issue, and work with you toward getting back to the demands of your job and everyday life.

Book with The Lab and mention the First Responders offer.

Sometimes a movement just feels off, even when you can’t quite explain why.

A squat may feel smoother on one side, a lunge may feel less stable, or running may start to feel uneven once fatigue sets in. That can relate to mobility, strength, control, previous injuries, or the way your body has adapted over time.

Osteopathy can help assess what may be contributing and whether it’s actually something that needs attention.

Three weeks out from the Toronto Waterfront Marathon, adding more mileage isn’t the move.

At this point, the focus should start shifting toward tapering your volume, maintaining the strength you’ve built, and giving recovery, sleep, nutrition, and mobility more attention.

It’s also worth addressing those little issues that have been hanging around through training before they have a chance to interfere with race day.

If you’re heading into a fall marathon and something doesn’t feel right, book an assessment with The Lab.

Training every part of HYROX equally can leave your biggest weakness untouched.

Start with an honest look at what you already do well and what costs you the most during a race. Someone with a strong strength and conditioning base but limited running capacity may need to shift more time toward running rather than simply adding more work overall.

That also means accounting for recovery and practicing what it feels like to run after demanding stations.

Use these points to check where your training time is going.
