FOR HIGH PERFORMERS ONLY ⚠️⬇️

This is how I use the Modular Adaptive Training System to train legs 3x a week.

I use 2 rules:

1) Level I Modules ONLY

This means only a single movement for the 3 main Leg movements - Hinge, Squat, and Lunge - in a single session. This reduces the chance of creating excessive fatigue and soreness. If you intend to train legs again in 2 days, you want to minimize this.

2) Only ONE Movement to load the spine.

Any movement that heavily loads the spine - Deadlift, Squat or Lunge - is going to create a lot of fatigue as much as that particular stress can signal for growth. Doing a whole workout where every movement does this IS possible, but you have to be smart with your loading and rep structure if you are really trying to push your intensity.

These are good rules to start. From here you test you capacity to do more.

Could you do another set? Do you feel like you could do another exercise? Another exercise that loads your spine? How much time do you have?

If you are a high performer, you might only have the time to follow these rules. This is where you have to do what you already do and maximize your effort with what you have in front of you.

BUSY HIGH PERFORMERS ONLY! ⚠️⬇️

I wanted to clear up how the Modular Adaptive Training System works to save you time.

You just rotate through these movement patterns: Squat, Hinge, Lunge, Horizontal Press, Vertical Press, Horizontal Pull, Vertical Pull.

Each Level I Module takes about 10 minutes to complete. An easy way to approach this is to do as many modules as you can in the period of time you have to train.

Ex. 30 minutes = 3 Modules

This approach allows us to expand and contract as our schedule frees up or gets busy. It also allows us to adapt to accumulated fatigue so we can pace out the week while still maintaining enough stimulus for results.

For High Performers ONLY ⚠️⬇️

You only need 5 movements to make lower body gains in 50 minutes.

I used:
- Machine Hip Thrust 3x5
- A Superset of Leg Extensions X Split Squat 3x10
- Seated Leg Curl 3x5
- Standing Calf Raise 3x20

The 2 time saving changes I made to my workout was to Superset the Squat (Bilateral Quad Dominant Movement) and Lunge as well as cut out the rest time for unilateral movements like the Calf Raise.

The other thing to do is leverage machines and low effort set-ups. Machine Hip Thrust over Barbell Hip Thrust. Leg Extension over Barbell Squat. Body Weight Calf Raises on any elevated, stable surface until failure.

I DON'T recommend ONLY doing these movements. But if you are only trying to build muscle and you are short on time, this is what I would do.

I rotate through movement patterns. I can scale up modules for more volume. Drop down volume when fatigue. Customized to my specific training goals, biomechanics and general preferences.

A more fluid way to train that can also adjust to your schedule so you can start with just 10 minutes a day so you can stay consistent through busy periods.
