We all know New Years resolutions don’t work.
If you want to start 2027 with momentum, 𝐫𝐢𝐠𝐡𝐭 𝐧𝐨𝐰 is the time to start.

Don’t run out the year doing the same things you’ve always done.

Instead, you can:

→ Run a tiny experiment to learn whether something is worth doing.

→ Start reading and learning NOW so you can make a better plan when it’s time.

→ Document, train, and delegate to get one thing off your plate, to free your time for new activities in Q1.

If your plan is to wait until Jan 1 and hope for the best, you’re going to waste the first quarter.

Don’t wait for January. What can you easily do in Q4 that your future self will thank you for?

What a powerful day we had at GrowthCLUB last Friday!

These are the business owners who came to run their business… not let it run them.

Watching this group step back from the daily grind and dive headfirst into tackling real business problems together is always the real highlight.

We kicked off the morning unpacking the 5 keys to getting off the business tightrope so everyone could escape the busy trap and make room for what actually matters.

The interactive table discussions turned each-other’s business challenges into practical solutions.

And by the afternoon, the room was mapping out Q4 with concrete goals to finish the year strong.

It’s always a privilege to host this alongside Ola Adeyemi and Bhavin Parikh.

Plus, a massive thank you to all the amazing business owners who showed up, put in the work, and brought so much energy to the room.

Seeing what our members have built over this past year has been so rewarding.

When I launched ActionCLUB last October, I wanted local business owners to have a real community.

Running a business can feel surprisingly lonely, so I created a place to meet every month, share challenges, and find support from peers and experts who get it.

And to celebrate our 1-year anniversary my goal is simple:

I want to give back to our local business community by hosting a completely free afternoon session on October 16th at BraeBen Golf Course.

A year ago, I opened the doors on ActionCLUB.
Here we are 1-year later, and still growing!

The start of another school year always feels like the perfect time to take another look at my default schedule. Here are four key changes I made this week:

1 → I set aside time blocks 2x/day for responding to email, instead of letting it distract me all day long.

2 → I booked longer blocks of time for batching similar tasks, instead of jumping around.

3 → I’m using my highest energy time of day for my most important work (for me this is in the morning right after the school run).

4 → Instead of only scheduling time for daily and weekly tasks, I’m paying more attention to the important things I do monthly (especially for ActionCLUB events), and making sure they’re prioritized on my calendar in advance.

These small changes have me feeling more in control of my calendar already.

There’s still the same amount of work, but resetting my default schedule will help me tackle it more effectively.

Here’s a confession: I used to think being self-employed meant I’d made it.

I’d built my first “business” doing work I liked and on my own terms…

It took having a family to realize that I’d built a job instead. A hamster wheel with no benefits or time off.

As you climb the ladder from self-employed to a job-creating, legacy-leaving entrepreneur, you build skills and grow into the person who can succeed at each level.

Today, with training, experience, and perspective, I help others move up the ladder.
