Today we celebrate the incredible women who help shape the heart of our community at The Mississauga Academy of Martial Arts. 💗

The majority of our team are strong, passionate women dedicated to empowering the next generation every single day. Through martial arts, they help build confidence, resilience, discipline, and leadership in every student who walks through our doors!

AMA Mississauga’s co-owner Andrea leads with passion, strength, and heart, inspiring both our team and our students every day. Her vision has helped create a space where young minds grow stronger, kinder, and more confident through the lessons of martial arts.

These women are more than instructors and staff; they are role models, mentors, and leaders who show our students what it means to stand strong, support one another, and believe in their potential.

Today and every day, we are proud to celebrate the women who make our academy such a powerful place to learn and grow 🥋

Happy International Women’s Day to all the strong women in our community ✨

Leaders aren’t born — they’re built right here at The Academy of Martial Arts. 🥋

Every class is more than just kicks and punches. It’s about building character, strengthening discipline, and developing the kind of confidence that carries far beyond the mats. Our students learn respect, accountability, perseverance, and the power of pushing through challenges — even when things feel tough.

Martial arts teaches resilience. It teaches them how to stand tall after a setback, how to stay focused under pressure, and how to lead with integrity. The belts they earn represent more than skill — they represent growth, courage, and commitment.

We’re not just training martial artists.
We’re shaping strong, confident leaders for life. 💪🏽🔥

Today we stand together for Pink Shirt Day 2026 💗👚

Pink Shirt Day is more than just wearing a colour — it’s a reminder that kindness is strength, courage is standing up for others, and respect is something we practice every single day.

At our academy, we believe martial arts is about building confidence, leadership, and character. True strength isn’t about overpowering someone — it’s about protecting, uplifting, and supporting one another.

Bullying has no place in our community.
Compassion does.
Respect does.
Courage does.

Let’s wear pink proudly and continue teaching our students to lead with integrity, stand up for what’s right, and create a safe space for everyone on and off the mats.

💗 Choose kindness.
💗 Stand up for others.
💗 Be the example.

Strong foundations. Real pressure. Technical precision.

On the mats, details matter. 🥋

This is what Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu is all about — learning to control position, stay calm under pressure, and apply technique with intention. No shortcuts. No ego. Just growth.

At AMA Mississauga, our BJJ program builds:
✔️ Confidence under pressure
✔️ Technical skill from day one
✔️ Conditioning & mental resilience
✔️ A team that pushes you to level up

Whether you’re brand new or refining your game — there’s always another layer to sharpen.

Come train. Come learn. Come evolve.

Rooted in tradition. Built for today’s kids.🥋

At AMA, our Kids & Youth Karate program teaches more than punches and kicks — we develop focus, respect, confidence, and strong character through authentic martial arts training.

This is where discipline is learned, effort is honoured, and growth happens one class at a time.

Choose AMA. Choose a foundation that lasts.🔴⚪️

Rooted in tradition, shaped by consistency. We honour where karate comes from while guiding our students toward who they’re becoming. Technique matters—but character is the true measure of progress 🥋✨

At the heart of karate is character, not trophies.

Gichin Funakoshi, the founder of modern karate, never intended the art to be about belts, ranks, or competition. To him, karate was a lifelong path of self-improvement—a way to cultivate discipline, humility, and strong character.

In the early days, students trained together without hierarchy, focused on personal growth rather than victory. Funakoshi famously taught that “the ultimate aim of karate lies not in victory or defeat, but in the perfection of the character of its participants.”

Belts and ranks were later introduced simply to help organize training, not to create status.

At AMA, we honour this philosophy by remembering that progress isn’t measured by titles alone—but by who we become through training. 🥋

A huge congratulations to our BJJ instructors Sheldon & Joe on earning their black belts 🥋⬛️⬛️⬛️🟥

This achievement is the result of years of discipline, sacrifice, humility, and unwavering commitment to the art. But beyond the countless hours on the mats, we are deeply grateful for the way you lead—with patience, integrity, and heart.

Thank you for sharing your knowledge, pushing your students to be better, and representing what true martial artists look like on and off the mats. Your black belts are not just a symbol of skill, but of the impact you’ve made on our community.🖤

We are incredibly proud and thankful to walk this journey with you. The work continues—but today, we celebrate you! 👏🏽🤙🏽
