Kicked off the MCL 2025 season with a win that was built on a true team effort.
Everyone stepped up - whether it was breaking partnerships, steadying the innings, or finishing strong under pressure. Check out our impact players. Special shout out to Harvinder Singh who smashed 18 off 9, keeping the momentum high.
Chirag brought composure when it mattered - stalling the opposition’s momentum with the ball and rebuilding the innings with a steady knock.
Ravi followed with a captain’s knock, smashing 25 at a strike rate of 200 and picking up a wicket. Not to forget his strategy- making sharp tactical calls throughout.
Gurtej kept the pressure on with 3 wickets, consistently hitting the right areas and disrupting the flow. The scorecard doesn’t do justice to the pressure he created.

Puneet stepped up when it mattered most.
He turned the game with two wickets in two balls, nearly clinching a hat-trick. With the team needing 11 an over, he stayed calm under pressure - smashing 3 fours and 2 HUGE sixes to seal the win with nearly two overs to spare.
This moment was no accident - Puneet has put in the work all year, showing up every day to train and improve. One of the kindest guys on the team, he fully earned his match-winning moment.

Ameer delivered an all-round performance.
With the ball, he choked the batters with his spin and narrowly missed out on an additional wicket. He capped off his spell with a sharp diving runout.
With the bat, Ameer led from the front, striking six sixes and four fours in a dominating innings. At the time of his dismissal, he had remarkably contributed 75% of Canada XI’s total runs at the time.

📸 A tough day on the field for Canada XI. We started strong and bowled well against Soul Brothers restricting them to 170 all out. However we faced challenges with our batting in the second innings having lost early wickets and were eventually outdone by a great attack from the Soul Brothers bowlers.
👏 Congrats to Soul Brothers on their win - you played a great game! Also congrats to Subhrojit Majumdar, Singh Ankit Punkit Mehta for their contribution with the ball. Shout out to Ishaan Arora for his debut wicket in Mississauga Cricket League and for playing the sheet anchor role - scoring a hard fought 27.

📸 Highlights from our last match! While it wasn’t the outcome we hoped for, chasing 226, Canada XI put up a commendable fight. Special shoutout to our captain, Punkit Mehta and vice captain Mohit Sharma for their stellar performances. Not to forget solid knocks from Ravi Ananthanarayanan and Singh Ankit. Some great fielding from Krishnamoorthy (Krish) Ramesh as well. Your dedication and spirit inspire us all.
