Last month was rough. Record amounts of rain fell in a few hours and came crashing downhill right at us and eventually right through us.

I’m certain many others had it much worse than us but it was a scary moment. To see the place that we’ve built literally going underwater and not knowing how bad it would continue to get was terrifying.

We were only down a few days but still took a pretty big loss due to all the damage. But not only did we bounce back quickly - we’re better than ever.

New turf, new equipment, new designs and ways to use the space, and cleaner than ever. Check us out!

A massive thank you for stepping up and going above and beyond to help get this place whole again.

This is Adam just crushing this pitch. ⚾️

Individuals with intellectual disabilities are at far greater risk or many health and lifestyle problems and participate in regular exercise at a tiny fraction of the rate of the general population. 📉

Starting an exercise program can be a challenge for anyone. Even more so for many individuals with intellectual disabilities whom we know face more barriers to success. This video is just one example of how we can make training more engaging and fun in an effort to overcome some of those obstacles. Adam knows we’ll spend a few minutes playing ball after he trains. It’s a brief and simple thing but it helps makes coming the gym a more positive experience.

When we meet a new person facing some of these challenges we’re always thinking about ways to improve their training experience: How can we get this person moving more without overwhelming them, what supports can we provide, what modifications do we need to make, and how can we make this more fun.

With world Autism 🧩month beginning, we think it’s important to share this message and tell stories like Adam’s. Anything that gets more people moving is what we’re all about.

Last week’s strength ‘n balance classes were focused on crow pose. In addition to looking pretty cool it strengthens the arms, abs, and wrists, stretches your back and opens your groin. This pose challenges your balance and concentration and helps build the foundation for more enhanced arm balances like side crow and eight angle pose.

Begin in a standing forward fold, plant your hands shoulder distance apart and slowly lift your heels away from the floor. Bend your knees and elbows and place your knees as high up on your arms as possible. Gently lift your feet away from the ground, find your balance and draw the soles of your feet to touch. Keep your head up and chest open and lift your heels toward your glutes.

Elanna was born to coach. In the gym, on the court, or in the classroom, her passion to teach is unmistakable. She’s constantly learning about fitness and health and sharing that knowledge with others. Add on top of that her experience and skill and you’ve got the recipe for a great coach. Elanna’s an amazing athlete who has competed at the CrossFit Games, and played Div 1 NCAA basketball.

To train with Elanna, learn something new, and experience her enthusiasm for coaching you can find her Sundays at Level Up.
