With the 2026 ISC Canada East fastball season drawing to a close, we want to congratulate and thank everyone who made this summer the best in recent memory. What was accomplished this year was simply fantastic!
First, congratulations to Hill United Chiefs, their second three-peat of ISC World Championships and now just two shy of the record 10 ISC titles. Congratulations also to the Bear Creek group on hosting the 2026 ISC World Tournament at the spectacular JDT First Energy Veterans Memorial Park – well done!
We counted seven Canada East teams in the top 12 at the 2026 ISC World Tournament, another seven in the top 12 in ISC II and five in the top 12 in ISC Legends – tremendous accomplishments for our teams.
And that’s not to mention the finishes by Ontario and Quebec teams at the Canadian championships in all age groups with gold, silver and bronze medals across divisions ranging from men’s and masters to U23, U20, U17 and U15. The future stars in our game are already shining!
Individually, congratulations to Waterdown Hammer’s Peter Chambers, this year’s recipient of the Denny Bruckert Memorial Award for dedication to the game. Richly deserved!
We would like to thank all of the folks who made the 2026 ISC Canada East Qualifier and the Ontario Challenge Cup runaway successes.
In Mitchell, our host committee led by AJ Moses and the Toronto Batmen group supported and led by Mike, Sheryl and Cody Skelton. This tournament is widely recognized by many in the game as one of the top events on the circuit. A terrific all-in-one facility and we look forward to celebrating more than 30 years of ISC Canada East Qualifiers in 2027!
In Jarvis, Aaron Doyle, Lori Flowerday, Corey MacLean and Kent Wardell led a fantastic group as first-time hosts of the Ontario Challenge Cup. Safe to say, we will look forward to returning in the near future. Fabulous diamonds, first-rate food and beverages and beautiful weather add up to a super successful tournament. Everyone in the host committee, which also included the Jarvis Lions, was supportive and everybody contributed to a remarkable event.
Not only do we have among the best teams and players, our umpires are at the top of the game as well. A big thank you to our UiCs Paul Baier in Mitchell and George Lemaich in Jarvis. And thank you to all of the blue crew who worked our events this year including the many Canada East umpires at the ISC World Tournament.
Our scorekeepers took on the task of implementing GameChanger at our tournaments this season. Steve Kuhl, Ken Wettlaufer, Dennis Yeadon, Mary Ann Stroh, Diane Yausie and our troubleshooters and supporters including John Vleeming, Lucy Moses and Bevan & Ashley Matheson who all helped us to raise our game even further this year.
Brian Eradus, our new ISC Secretary and prior to that our Communications Specialist, did all of the behind-the-scenes work setting up our tournaments in GameChanger and in Exposure, ensuring they were included on the ISC website and much, much more. Brian’s presence and impact is going to be huge in the ISC.
We truly appreciate the terrific number of fans who joined us in both Mitchell and Jarvis. It’s great to see each and every one of you at the parks. We truly appreciate the opportunity to talk ball with you when we get the chance.
Special thank yous to Luciano Lofrano, Karol Doreste and Isabella at Softball Premier. You continue to elevate our game and we can never say enough good things about everything you do. To Kyle Smith who pinch hit for Blair on Friday in Jarvis – thanks again and it was great to have you back!
