🏀 MBA Summer Camp Week 1 a Success! 🏀

Thanks to everyone who came out for our first week of summer camps! Big congratulations to our Week 1 award winners! 🎉 Each week, we recognize campers who go above and beyond with our Camper of the Week, Spirit of the Week, and Hustler of the Week awards. We also recognize a Camper of the Day throughout the week, celebrating effort, teamwork, sportsmanship, and a positive attitude on and off the court.

In June, Basketball Canada hosted a Basketball Super Clinic led by Mike MacKay, National Director of Technical Development and Brandon Brock, Coach Development.

Photos include MBA coaches, former MBA players who are now giving back as referees, and a large group photo of all the players, coaches, and referees who attended the sessions.

Canada Basketball Basketball New Brunswick

🏀 We’re thrilled to welcome Ali Forbes to the MBA as our new Technical Director! 🏀

Ali grew up in the Riverview basketball community before building a career at the intersection of sport, media, and education. She began her career as a Story Editor at SportsCentre before earning a Master’s degree in Sport and Fitness Management from Troy University and completing doctoral studies in Journalism and Mass Communication at the Walter Cronkite School at Arizona State University.

Ali later joined the University of Texas as a Professor of Practice, where she developed the Sports Production and Broadcasting minor and worked closely with Texas Athletics to provide students with hands-on production experience. She has also produced content for ESPN, the Pac-12 Network, and Longhorn Network.
After returning home to southeastern New Brunswick,

Ali continued her work in the sports industry as Chief Strategic Advisor for OUA.tv with Ontario University Athletics.

Now, Ali is excited to bring her experience and passion for the game to MBA. Having grown up playing basketball in the community, she is grateful for the opportunity to give back to the sport that has had such a significant impact on her life. She looks forward to getting to know the athletes, coaches, volunteers, and families who make up the MBA community and to helping support the continued growth of basketball throughout Greater Moncton.

🏀 U14 Hawks Season Recap 🏀

What a fantastic spring season for the Moncton Hawks U14 Perron/Graves/Graves team!

The girls put in the work, played lots of games, and finished the season strong with a 🥉 Bronze Medal at the Riverview Tournament. We were also proud to be recognized as Team of the Game at a game, a great experience for the entire team!

As the season comes to a close, we’d like to wish our five players heading to high school this fall all the best. We’re proud of your hard work, growth, and dedication, and can’t wait to see what you accomplish next.

A huge thank you to our parents, coaches, opponents, and referees for making this season such a positive and memorable one.
