McGill Throws

This year will be my 20th year with , 15th coaching mcgill throws and, apparently, it will also be my last.

made the decision to cut more than half of its varsity teams, including the track and field team. This decision is a complete blindside and to say that I am sad and in disbelief is probably an understatement.

Most upsetting is that the athletics department cut the team without consultation or compromise. There was no discussion. For that reason I am asking you to consider signing our petition (link in bio) asking McGill athletics for more transparency as to why the cuts were made and the possibility of finding a solution.

This team means a lot of things to a lot of people. It's more than just university sports, it helps shape who you are as a person. For me personally, it's hard to picture who I would be if I hadn't been a member of this team, both as an athlete and a coach. The people I met on this team have become lifelong friends and they have pushed me to do things I never thought possible, both in sport and out.

In addition to the athletes and coaches on the team, McGill track also supports hundreds of athletes outside of McGill within the and system, hosting indoor meets on one of the few indoor banked tracks in the country.

This is the time to speak up! Let's not go down without a fight!

Today is National Girls and Women in Sports day so let's celebrate the women who make up McGill throws! and are two hardworking badass women and I can't say how happy I am to have them as part of our team!
