Two of our EN MASSE POUR LES MASSES crew just got back from an epic week in Saint-Pierre and Miquelon, where they teamed up with 9 local youths, aged 8 to 14, to create a killer mural at the Cultural and Sports Center! From brainmapping to sketching on paper, then on the wall, and finally hitting it with paint—each step was tackled head-on.

Huge shoutout to the young artists for their energy and talent, and a big thank you to the Cultural and Sports Center for their trust.

Deux de nos membres de EN MASSE POUR LES MASSES reviennent tout juste d’une très belle semaine à Saint-Pierre-et-Miquelon, où ils ont collaboré avec 9 jeunes de 8 à 14 ans pour créer cette superbe murale au Centre Culturel et Sportif ! Du brainmapping aux croquis sur papier, en passant par le tracé au mur et jusqu’à la peinture, chaque étape a été menée avec brio.

Nous avons eu la chance d’illustrer notre vision de Montréal sur ce beau grand mur du MEM - Centre des mémoires montréalaises qui vient tout juste d’ouvrir ses portes sur la rue Saint-Laurent et St-Catherine. An open-edition series of affordable, high quality prints speaks to the heart of the COLLAB-19 project; EM’s response to the challenge of protecting and sustaining our shared cultural ecosystem over the past couple years, through the simple act of drawing together in a time of isolation, fear, and instability.

Richly detailed works map the contours of an experimental, extended online digital collaboration, featuring the work of multiple Canadian and international participants who were invited to reflect on their experience of the COVID crisis.

This exhibition allows C-19 to evolve into a space to discuss the role artists can play when facing unprecedented challenges, examining where our responsibilities to each other and the world around us are at through adaptation, evolution, and cooperation — key components to confronting and overcoming any crisis.
