Hockey dream comes true in Montreal for teen battling leukemia - TSN.ca Thirteen-year-old Jules Aouizerate has been playing hockey for most of his life. Aouizerate, who was diagnosed with leukemia four years ago, lives in France but always dreamed of coming to Canada because of his love for the sport.

Montreal's own Haylie Goldsmith! Good luck Haylie!
We are delighted to present some Q&As to some of our athletes representing Maccabi Canada at the 21st Maccabiah Games.
Meet Haylie Goldsmith who will be representing Maccabi Canada as a part of the gymnastics team.
🤸♂️ When did you first start practicing gymnastics?
I started competitive gymnastics when I was 5 years old and have been doing it ever since. I was chosen to try out for the competitive team at Wimgym Gymnastics Club and have been part of that team for the past 11 years.
🤸♂️ Who was/is your athletic role model and why?
Evandra Zlobec, who also happens to be my best friend, is my role model. Her perseverance and commitment to gymnastics inspires me. Ever since we were little, she has continued to show everyone what she can do! She is an incredible person, an amazing friend and an outstanding gymnast.
🤸♂️ What has been your personal or professional highlight as an athlete?
For sure, my international competitions like Gymnix and my podium finishes, especially on beam and floor, have been the highlights.
🤸♂️ Why do you want to be a member of Team Canada and compete at the Maccabiah Games?
I love gymnastics and I love competing. The opportunity to represent Canada as a gymnast is incredible and I am so happy to be able to do this. It has been something I have been working towards. Being able to travel to Israel is awesome - it will be my first time!
🤸♂️ What are you most looking forward to about the Maccabiah Games?
As a Gymnast and a Jewish athlete - travelling with the Canadian delegation is a dream come true! I am excited to travel and see all the sites, to meet and get to know other athletes and of course, win some medals!
