Feng Huang Wushu

Today our Juniors attended the 2026 Ottawa Junior Championship, lots of hard work and progress, lots of laughs, and medals (trophies as a cherry on top)! Great job to all the athletes!!

Montreal’s Feng Huang Wushu Club’s three competitors at the Wushu Canada National Championships once again brought home the metal with a total of 8 medals including 3 gold, 2 silver and 3 bronze! The competition, held in Markham, Ontario, on the first weekend in August hosted hundreds of competitors from across Canada. Congratulations to Feng Huang's competitors Zihan Cai, Amber Ping Compton and Andrew Wang Compton for their dedication and hard work and congratulations and thanks to the club’s expert coaches for their persistence in pushing club members towards excellence. Zihan's performances wowed the audience and judges, winning two silver medals in competitions involving some of Canada's top athletes. Amber, showing the kind of grace, power and elegance prized by Taichi practitioners, brought home a gold and two bronze medals, while her older brother, Andrew, not only won two golds and a bronze , but a much coveted position on the Wushu Canada seniors' team heading to the 17th World Wushu Championships in Brazil starting on September 1st, 2025. Montreal's Feng Huang Wushu Club is proving itself to be one of Canada's pre-eminent wushu clubs, thanks to its professional coaches and committed, hard working team members.

From the wuguan to the carpet to the silver screen, it's always a joy to share moments with this team!

Due to big storm, we are going ahead and CANCELLING CLASS, stay safe, do some mabu at home.

Pan-American champs! Congrats to Amber and Andrew for their first place finishes in Taijijian and Qiangshu respectively! Great work team! Thanks to all the other coaches, and congrats to the other Canadian team athletes for outstanding performances!

A big congrats to FH athlete Amber on her performance at last week's Ontario Martial Arts Selection event! Despite a sprained ankle Amber was able to secure a first place finish in taijijian as well as second place finishes in taijiquan and taijishan! Congrats Amber!
