Squeal! Finally I can share a photo of what I’ve been working on for the past year! I’m so proud to say that I made the skirts for the tutu in the second photo (there were 19 in total)! The brilliant cutters and stitchers at the atelier at Les Grands Ballets Canadiens made the bodices and did an amazing job decorating and bringing these costumes to life from the designs we were given to work from. It was truly an honour to work with them from prototype to stage and I’m so excited to see these onstage in the next couple weeks!

There’s something about a new tutu: clean, crisp, fluffy. Just finished this one this week for a local photographer. But it’s just a drop in bucket of exciting projects I’ve been working on lately. I can’t share just yet, but hopefully soon! Happy Tutu Tuesday!

On Friday I decided to make a tutu over the weekend. Instead, I cut, stitched and ruffled four full sets of tutu layers (10 layers of tulle per tutu), cut and stitched four panties, and completely assembled two full tutu skirts! They still need to be tacked (and the last two assembled and tacked), but not bad for 3 days of work! Happy Tutu Tuesday!
