Here are samples of FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS for the class:
- I just gave birth, when can I start training?
C-SECTION : Not before at least 6 to 8 weeks and get the OK from your doctor.
Natural birth: You should wait at least 30-40 days and get the OK from your doctor.
- I've never trained before and never did yoga either... do I have to be in good shape to sign up?
No, you don't. Your body just went through one of the biggest efforts a women will ever have to know... I take this into consideration. I also consider that many moms are still sleep deprived. HOWEVER, it is important that each mom listens to their body and not push beyond their capacities for that day. I offer modifications and suggestions for those who need it.
In the past, moms have simply showed up to walk with the group and to chit-chat with the other moms; just to get out of the house, get some sun and enjoy good company. This is VERY welcomed and HIGHLY suggested if a mom is not up to doing the cardio or strength training exercises!
- Where do we meet?
We meet in the parking lot, near the tennis court, at Parc Delorme,
Corner of Rue de Nantes& Rue PƩguy.
- What time should I arrive at?
Class starts at 9:45. Arrive 5-10 minutes before to set up stroller, feed or change baby, go to the washroom, etc.
- What's the plan for each class?
We begin with a 15-20min warm-up of cardio (brisk walk, interval running, jogging), 30-35min weight training exercises and 20-30min of yoga. Depending on weather, I may change the routine. For example, if it is hot, there will be less cardio and training, and more yoga. If it is colder, there will be more cardio and training to stay warm.
- What do I need?
A stroller, a set of dumbbells (5lbs or 8lbs), a baby carrier (optional), a yoga mat, a bottle of water, a towel.
- What happens if it rains?
In case of rain, class is canceled and rescheduled at the end of the session.
- What happens if I miss a class?
Classes can be made up in the following session for a maximum of 2 classes per session. I offer 5 sessions of 5 weeks each (10 class/session) throughout the summer. If a person signs up to all the sessions, the make-up classes can be credited at the renewal of the new session.
