Il est temps d'introniser Jacques Doucet au Temple de la renommée.
It's time to induct Jacques Doucet into the National Baseball Hall of Fame and Museum. No broadcaster deserves the Ford C. Frick award more than this man. More nominations for the award without getting in than anyone else. Right a wrong.

He has us at Hola!
Although Vladimir Guerrero only had one at-bat in his Expos tryout, the club had seen enough.
Montreal signed the future Hall of Famer in 1993, and it didn’t take long for his talent to shine. https://ow.ly/C55V50YnOj9

Fresh off his rookie season with the Kansas City Monarchs, Jackie Robinson signed with the Montreal Royals 80 years ago today, representing a massive step toward the reintegration of the major leagues. https://ow.ly/gmcX50XgQQR

⚾️On October 6, 1980 the Montreal Expos’ Gary Carter appeared on the cover of Sports Illustrated. The 1980 Expos won 90 games, lost 72 games, and finished in second place in the NL East. In 1980, Carter clubbed 29 home runs, drove in 101 runs, and earned the first of his 3 consecutive Gold Glove Awards. He finished second to Mike Schmidt in NL MVP balloting, whose Phillies took the NL East by one game over the Expos. Montreal ranked 4th in the NL in runs scored, keyed by drawing walks and stealing bases. The Expos were 5th in the NL in ERA, with a bullpen that was deep by the standards of the time.⚾️

According to Rodger Brulotte, Felipe Alou has bid farewell to Montreal! 🥺
"Over 1,000 Expos fans attended the Expos Fest gala, where the numbers of several Expos stars were retired. However, no one had anticipated such a touching message from former Expos manager and player Felipe Alou. As he gingerly took his seat, he addressed the guests, thanking them for accepting him as a friend and member of the Quebec family. There was a pause in his voice as he prepared to deliver an emotional message. Felipe then announced that due to his health, this would probably be his last trip to Montreal. Many people couldn't hold back their tears, as no one expected Felipe to say farewells!"
