That’s a wrap on another great season! Thank you to all the kids, parents, coaches and volunteers who gave their time and effort to help get kids on the field this year. Here’s a few snaps from the 10 minutes this year when it wasn’t raining on a Wednesday night! We tried to get a team picture for the older kids, but they were all too busy trying not to float away..

We had a special moment on Wednesday when we said thank you Heather from the Associated Canadian Travellers branch 1027 Moose Jaw. A long time supporter of a variety of community initiatives and groups here in Moose Jaw and all over Saskatchewan, the Associated Canadian Travellers have always been a huge supporter of local groups. We’re incredibly great full for their support as we work to bring rugby to more kids here in Moose Jaw.

Mini Rugby kicks off next Wednesday! There is still time to register the kiddos if they want to come try a new sport. No special equipment or previous experience needed. $45 for 6-9y/os and $50 for ages 10-15. This fee covers all 11 weeks, as well as a T-shirt to take home.

Don’t let the snow fool you, just two weeks to go until we kick off our 2026 Mini and Flag Rugby programs.

Mini Rugby (ages 6-9) will start April 15th,6pm at Yara Center, and Flag (Ages 10 to 15) will run right after it, 7pm, also at Yara Center. Perfect for either first time or returning players. No special equipment or previous experience required!

Only $45 for the Minis and $50 for Flag for the entire 11 week program.

Just over a month to go, our 2026 season starts on April 15th!

We’ll be running two age groups again this year, ages 6-9 and 10-15. Kids in our 6-9 age groups will use a variety of fun mini games to teach the core rugby skills to our new players, and help reinforce good rugby habits in our returning players. Our 10-15 age group will use the core skills to learn the non-contact version of Flag Rugby.

All sessions are on Wednesday evenings, and both programs are open to boys and girls and would be suitable for first time players as well. In April we will be inside at Yara Center, with Mini (6-9) from 6-6:45 and Flag (10-15) from 7-8. May and June will be outside at Moose Square Park, with Mini from 5:30-6:15 and Flag from 6:30-7:30. No equipment is needed, just come dressed to run and ready to have fun!

If you’re out and about this Saturday in Moose Jaw, stop into the Yara Center between noon and 5pm to catch the U of R Cougars Women’s Rugby team in action. cougarswrugby are hosting a 7’s Rugby tournament. It’s a great chance to watch some rugby right here in Moose Jaw. Games are only about 15 min long, so you can drop in, watch a game or two and then enjoy your day.
