Kaeden is a Personal Trainer/Strength coach at School for Strength/CrossFit Nanaimo. Kaeden developed an interest in fitness in High School where he participated and competed in both wrestling and powerlifting. Currently, Kaeden competes with British Columbia Powerlifting Association and holds provincial records. Kaeden recently graduated from Macewan University with a Diploma in Music Performance, with his primary instrument being the upright bass. During his university years his interest in fitness continued as he trained both for personal enjoyment, and to keep in top form for his work as a Wildland Firefighter. During this time, Kaeden discovered he had a passion for helping others to achieve a better quality of life through strength training. He decided to turn his passion into a career and obtained his personal training certification. For over a year Kaeden has been working with clients from various backgrounds with a wide range of fitness levels to improve their functional strength and movement patterns. Clients testify that training with Kaeden has helped them to improve their ability to participate in daily activities with increased strength and confidence. Kaeden is passionate about helping people find confidence and joy in healthy movement. In his spare time, Kaeden enjoys spending time with his fiance, Judah, talking about “all things nerd” with his family, and knitting. Kaeden’s ultimate goal in life is to pet all of the dogs.

School for Strength is excited to introduce our first of two trainers who have joined our team.
W***y Curry is BCRPA certified and a Pain Free Performance Specialist.
He is an experienced trainer with a background in boxing, rugby, football and powerlifting training.
W***y excelled in all sports he trained in. His competitive sports career was cut short when he had a serious back injury which resulted in major surgery.
W***y’s journey to recovery is what helped shape his training philosophy. The rehabilitation program changed his understanding of fitness and sparked a passion for strength training and proper programming.
W***y can now train pain free and is committed to pass on this knowledge to clients to promote their longevity and holistic health.
He is engaged in ongoing learning to enhance his coaching skills with the main goal of empowering clients to be more confident as they master proper mechanics and movements.
W***y is working primarily as a personal trainer at SFS. Reach out to us our directly to to get more info about working with W***y.

We are finally able to announce what many of you have been waiting for. WE HAVE A NEW HOME!! Pat and Heather (SFS owners) have purchased CrossFit Nanaimo and will be merging some of our operations from SFS into the CFN location on Boxwood road.
The CrossFit Nanaimo facility is a large open space which utilizes much of the same equipment we used at SFS. We cannot wait to welcome you to the new facility.
Some of you may be interested in getting a CrossFit membership so that you can do the classes. Some may choose to continue the programs they have from their trainers with an Open Gym membership. Whichever option you choose, we look forward to continuing to support your fitness journey. One major change from our old operating system is that Loaded Movement Academy will not be operating under our roof. LMA will continue their personal training services out of Driven Performance located on Bowen rd. We will continue our professional relationship with LMA so that we can continue to facilitate some of their clients who still need a home to complete their programs. The transition will take some time, but we plan to have staff on hand to assist you with anything on your program during all of our open gym times. Hours for open gym will be roughly the same. We plan to be open at 5:30am or earlier Monday to Friday once we are fully operational with all our staff trained. We hope that this earlier start time will help accommodate those who start work at 7am.
SFS has also made a satellite training studio located near Long lake which will be able to accommodate personal training and small group sessions. We plan to utilize this space whenever we feel that the space is overcrowded at CFN.
We look forward to welcoming you to our new space and new community.
