Today is the day! 1pm to 4pm. The last open house down at the green! Your chance to introduce new bowlers to this game we call lawn bowling. Bring your friends, bring your neighbors, bring your family! If you're not a member, just come out and enjoy the day, we'll show you how!. We have coaches ready to assist. Flat soled shoes and comfortable clothing are a must. What's a little liquid sunshine anyways?

This is a busy weekend down at the NLBC clubhouse and out on the green!
We have the Semi Annual General Meeting for members only on Friday April 19th starts at 6pm, doors open at 5:30pm. Be a part of how this club is run. Also a great time fill in your membership form and pay your dues.
Then on Saturday we have our second open house from 1pm to 4pm. Have you ever wanted to learn to lawn bowl? Well, now's your chance. We have coaches ready to show you how! Members, bring your friends and neighbors. Flat soled shoes and comfortable clothes are needed, the rest is supplied.
And finally, Sunday is the big day! The Awakening of the Green. It's a great tradition as a member of this club, being lead around the green behind a Piper. For those who wish to play, there will be a fun game on the green to get the season rolling!! Time will be posted later.
It's a great time to be a member of the Nanaimo Lawn Bowling Club as we head into our 101st year!

Open houses: April 13, 20 & 27, from 1 to 4pm.
All equipment supplied for this free trial of lawn bowling. Flat soled shoes and comfortable clothes is all that's needed. Bring your neighbors, bring your friends, get a group together. Come on down to the clubhouse next to the Senior Activity Center in Bowen Park.

There is so much happening at the clubhouse! The green is looking great with all the hard work the grounds crew put in. the clubhouse is organized and ready, thanks volunteers for the amazing work. Please remember to tell your friends and tell your neighbors that the first open house for new bowlers wanting to try it out is April 13th! Comfortable clothes and flat soled shoes are all you need. It's free with equipment supplied. Let our coaching crew show you why we love this sport. Lawn bowling, a sport for all!

Who's getting ready for another season on the green?
Season opening move in day is drawing nigh. Come to the clubhouse on April 2nd, we have a job for you. Lots to do: greens, gardens, equipment, kitchen, canteen. Please come prepared for inside and/or outside work. Coffee will be on.
Big cheers to the 2024 season!!

Sadly, we lost a valued member of our club on Sunday, February 25th. Dave 'Doc' Lowry lost his year long battle with cancer. Dave was a charismatic, fun-loving character. He loved to bowl and he loved this club that he considered family.
Thank you Dave for all your contributions over the last 5 years. You will be missed.
A celebration of his life will be announced at a later date once all details are available.

Reminder alert!!!! The Annual General Meeting of the Nanaimo Lawn Bowling Club is Sunday November 26, 2023. Doors open for 12:30pm with meeting starting promptly at 1pm.
One of the items on the agenda is the election of the new executive and directors positions. Have your say on who you want in these positions. Or you can always nominate yourself or nominate someone else for any position. Volunteering is the heart of our club. Hope to see you there! Location: The Clubhouse!

Hey, fellow club members! This is just a reminder to put November 26th on your calendar!!! Our AGM has been scheduled for 1pm, doors at the clubhouse are open at 1230pm.
There are lots of opportunity to put your name forward for one of the many tasks it takes to run a successful club.
Get involved, lighten the load, make new friends, share tasks, show your talents, share ideas.
Lets make our 101st year even more memorable than 100!
